Crow: Thanks for the tip! I sucked it up and bought the first five eps via Unbox, d/l’d to my poor 'ole Series 2 TiVo. I know I’ll end up losing 'em, but we’re so excited to see 'em that I just shelled out for 'em.
To say that the whole NBC/Apple thing is pissing me off is an understatement. Everyone’s so busy trying to find ways to own every damn thing – or price it so high that no one will buy it – that everyone’s losing; the writers, producers, actors, but most especially the fans.
My father played baseball in high school and loved the sport. But after the first strike, he just swore it off. He was so pissed that the owners and players couldn’t come to some agreement that he just found some other form of entertainment. Truthfully, I wish I could do the same.
But I just don’t have the balls. I really enjoy these shows, and I’m going to stick around like a sap until everyone gets done fracking everyone over and we get our shows back. I just hope that after the writers and studios, distributors and studios, cable companies and satellite companies, satellite companies and TiVo (…etc…) work out their differences there are enough fans left to still support the shows.
(I mean, am I helping or hurting the people I care about by continuing to support these shows through the strike? Hard to tell, yeah?)
