GWC Podcast #74

Barbie Pegasus as a BSG crossover? THAT would rock! A dark, edgy Barbie.

And hey–I have a confession to make about ballet: I’ve never warmed up much to the genre. Never had a problem with opera (I love quite a few of them, in fact, and would like to write five or six of them myself), orchestra music is cool, but dancing a story out? Point shoes? Thanks, but no thanks. (Modern dance is a different story, however.)

Thanks for the good wishes on the little one. She’s doing good.

And then the Cain doll shacks up with her…after shooting Ken in the head.

But then Barbie betrays her, and Cain turns her over to G. I. Thorne…

Well I haven’t exactly finished listening to the 'cast yet - I normally listen on my way to work, but I had off this week, so haven’t had a chance to finish listening.

Just wanted to jump in and say that there is a BSG Roleplaying game. I have seen the book, it is very similar to a Dungeon’s and Dragon’s or the Star Wars one. One of the Bunnies is a roleplayer (I would be to, if I had the opportunity, played a lot on college) and she received the book as on of her presents when we had the Bacholorette Party at Dragon*Con

Oh dear, we must fix this. I have the extended version, maybe after things calm down after the holidays we can get together and have a Frak Party. PM or e-mail me.

StevieSpin’s the greatest! Yay! (Somebody gets me!?)

Best crossover EVER!

Knowing Pike, I hope to see an animated Barbie vs. Thorn video up soon !!! :D:D

After seeing all the Barbie DVD posts, I’m so thankful I have boys who grew up on Star Wars! I can’t imagine having all that sweet stuff around the house, let alone all the tiny shoes. Although, in the dark a Barbie shoe doesn’t feel much different than a mini blaster under your foot.

I’m glad to see others giving Cain some slack. She made sure her ship survived, and that ship later saved everyone- as we just saw in this week’s re-watch.

By Stargate…or 6 will strangle your babies
i have to say im not much into ballett either, opras cool with me though…although pavarati(sp?)'s death kinda made me stop listening for a bit

i give cain no slack, she couldnt controll her fealings, and frakked up
she did allow for the survival of her ppl though

anyone else thinking that cylons need to know there cylons to acess the cy-fi(cylon wi-fi) including downloading/strength. like a matrix thing, all ppl in the matrix CAN jump 50 ft. but not all do b/c they dont know there in the matrix

p.s. Phish/Floyd own my @$$
i got to see the dancing pigs w/clarenets laser light show at my local science center

Damn, Boxy. Good point.

Boomer didn’t seem particularly powerful, while Athena was running circles around Helo (physical circles, that is, everyone runs mental circles around him.)

I seem to remember you mentioning that you’re in the Orlando area. You don’t happen to be talking about BCC’s planetarium, do you?

One memorable Palm Beach County evening when I was 17 my friend and I tried to do that at the super-lame South Florida Science Museum only to discover that it had been canceled. So instead we hung out with the old dudes, all FL snowbird retiree types, and they showed us how to find planets and different celestial bodies on the observatory’s scopes. And they quietly checked out 2 underaged girls. Good times… never did end up at the Pink Floyd Laser Light Extravaganza though.

As excited as I was to get my DVD of “Razor” the other day, do you all think it will also be packaged with the eventual season 4 of BSG, the way the miniseries got folded into the season 1 box set?

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this to you, Chuck, but Netflix Watch Now has Heroes Season 2 available right now for viewing. You have to have a Netflix account and Windows/IE, but it’s a great way to catch up to Seson 2. The Netflix player is pretty decent. For the Watch Now, you basically get however many hours you pay for your monthly membership, so if you have the one movie at a time for 9 bucks or whatever, you get 9 hours of online viewing each month. Anyway, thought that might help you find Season 2!

Crow: Thanks for the tip! I sucked it up and bought the first five eps via Unbox, d/l’d to my poor 'ole Series 2 TiVo. I know I’ll end up losing 'em, but we’re so excited to see 'em that I just shelled out for 'em.

To say that the whole NBC/Apple thing is pissing me off is an understatement. Everyone’s so busy trying to find ways to own every damn thing – or price it so high that no one will buy it – that everyone’s losing; the writers, producers, actors, but most especially the fans.

My father played baseball in high school and loved the sport. But after the first strike, he just swore it off. He was so pissed that the owners and players couldn’t come to some agreement that he just found some other form of entertainment. Truthfully, I wish I could do the same.

But I just don’t have the balls. I really enjoy these shows, and I’m going to stick around like a sap until everyone gets done fracking everyone over and we get our shows back. I just hope that after the writers and studios, distributors and studios, cable companies and satellite companies, satellite companies and TiVo (…etc…) work out their differences there are enough fans left to still support the shows.

(I mean, am I helping or hurting the people I care about by continuing to support these shows through the strike? Hard to tell, yeah?)

Finishing up the podcast…FINALLY!

First off, I was glad to hear my grad school roommate, Chuck, call in. He’s been listening to you guys almost as long as I have, and he, his wife and I are constantly making GWC references (particularly “craaaaaaaap”).

Secondly, I think the Sean Connery movie is “Zardoz.” It’s supposed to be one of the worst movies ever made. Sadly, I’ve never seen it (or if I have, I’ve supressed it).

Pretty sure I won’t be able to make a national meet up at this point, even though I suggested it. The Armando household is having a bit of a cash flow problem right now. Maybe next time. :frowning:
