Maybe the blue eyes are significant to the story in some way?
I have to comment on the blue eyes:
Yes, I think they look wrong but I disagree with Audra. I don’t think it takes away from his being “chicano” or whatever. I also don’t think that its a way to “anglo-ize” his character. I’m half-mexican and I know I have friends, and an ex-girlfriend, who are mexican and have blue or green eyes.
On a less argumentative note, this episode has my favorite BSG line EVAR:
Head Baltar: “You know, for self-aware cybernetic life forms, sometimes you can be unbearably obtuse.”
Same here on the eyes.
On a different topic, I was the one to comment about the cylon ‘energy weapons’ of the in the 'sode. While I agree we’re supposed to infer they are tracer rounds, I just thought it was interesting that they recreated to cylons from BSG’78 so accurately so as to give them the blue ‘beam of light’ style weapons (which were originally ‘energy weapons’ in BSG’78). This is very different than the cylon weapons used in the rest of the series. I just thought it was interesting that in this case they chose to accurately recreate BSG’78 over the ‘realism’ (which I admit is a relative term when talking ‘Space Operas’). Fortunately they didn’t used the old style electronic chimey sound effects.
On another further different topic:
During the 'cast Chuck credited me with noticing that the viper launch scene at the end of Sode 2 was a clone from the miniseries launch sequences…Exciting as it was to hear my name on the air, after looking back I believe it was Doc that made that observation. Good eyes, Doc.
Still working through the podcast, but I hear Anders saying “You are Cylon, and you’ve been one from the beginning.” My interpretation of the scene is that as he now knows that he is a Cylon and that it appears that she has been resurrected that he was trying to convince her that she is also one. I assume Kara won’t react to kindly to this, as she knows she isn’t one (and probably won’t turn out to be the final Cylon).
That’s my take too, Phil. When Starbuck shows back up alive on Galactica, the majority of people will probably think she is a Cylon, since from their experience, only Cylons can resurrect. Anders may be trying to see if she is as well by talking about it.
For my money, Roslin is totally the final Cylon. My crazy-out there prediction is that she’ll die somewhere on the way to Earth (as prophesied dying leaders do) and wake up in a vat o’ goo.
Solai, did you mean this screen cap?
In my family, my eyes are brown, my twin sister’s are hazel/gold (think Data), my younger sister’s are green with speckles of other colors, and my kid brother’s are blue. Plus, the three of them are all blonde and fair-skinned, and I’m brown-haired and olive-complexioned. And before anyone makes any cracks about my mother’s fidelity, we all have pretty much the same smile. Our color diversity is probably just due to the German genes on my mom’s side and the Serbian genes on my dad’s side (with a dash of Irish).

On a more serious note, I was thinking about how the war heroes’ re-imagined plans for dealing with the damn dirty apes (my guess at Cavil’s nickname for humans) went bad, and I think one of the major causes is that the Cylon(z) are fundamentally racist against humans. Sure, the Cylons may have admitted that mass murder was wrong, but they still believe that humans are inferior, primitive, and dangerous. They can’t be left alone. So if we (the Cylon[z]) can’t kill them, we must control them, for their own good. It’s this condescending attitude that even human sympathizers like Boomer, Athena, and Caprica Six still seem to hold, and it may be a permanent block between peaceful Human/Cylon relations.
Gods, could you imagine the direction that character would’ve taken with Bowie performing him?
Then again, he could have sung that “fat man” song from “Extras” to Lee during the early season three episodes…
Maybe that is what we are all missing with BSG? A Buffy the Vampire Slayer inspired musical episode with dancing centurions perhaps doing their interpretation of the can-can?
The cylon/s/z nickname for humans is…
“humans.”
That is all.
</sarge>
Baltar singing “Something in the Way She Moves” by James Taylor to a montage of Six sequences.
Chief singing Queen’s “I’m in Love with My Car” as he works in the hanger bay on a viper.
Tighe belting out George Thorougood’s “I Drink Alone” as he wanders the decks.
Roslin’s rendition of “Every Sperm is Sacred” from our boys in the Python troupe.
Oh, da possibilities !!
Oh dear, now look what ya’ll made me do.
Final Five, eat your hearts out. We’re going on tour.
First 7 are gathered on the baestar bridge singing “They got the White Goop out!”
About the blue eyes . . . if you see Olmos in Blade Runner he had very weird blue eyes, maybe he just likes the weird eyes, or maybe he had weird eyes anyway. Or maybe Adama is an albino who has to wear contacts all his life and the colour varies.
OMG that’s great !! lmoa
That’s awesome!
…also, love the name, Dr. Orpheus rules bay-bee!
Welcome!
I read a bit of a spoiler with regard to this.
BEGIN SPOILER (Select text with mouse between here and end)
I read somewhere about a set that was being done for season 4 that had looked like it was completely torn up in a HUGE firefight. Apparently, this was done by Centurions that became “sentient” and tossed their “shackles” … they were apparently PISSED at the human form Cylon(s/z) and massacred a pile of them.
END SPOILER
