Wow, I envy you. I’ve been putting off the last one for years now, simply because I don’t want to get to the end.
To GWC
Two Children under two, full-time job and completing a masters degree and now you have introduced me to EVE -thanks , oh where to start…
Oh the danger of GWC. Welcome to the Forum! You need not be a EVE-nophobe to gain entrance here. Enjoy!
You can either wave goodbye to your family, or teach your kids how to mine and haul for you. (:
Welcome to EVE/GWC.
Well it’s not quite that bad but it can suck down some time. Totally worth it as far as I can tell. But of course comng from me that’s not exactly an unbias opinion.
Then again hanging with your virtual eve homies is easier than that pesky RL stuff anyway. Plus, you can always log off.
Yes, come the dark side. Walk towards the eve-verse. Just remember, don’t undock it if your scared of losing it.
Finally a productive use for the kids-better not tell their mother!
I finally finished the audiobook of On Basilisk Station.
I LOVED the story, loathed the narrator. lol! She sounded like that Poop or Scoop newslady on hbo’s Crashbox. The whole. way. through. Very frustrating.
I shall search the print library for the other books in the series!
I’ve been trying to get the GWC hosts to watch a few videos. The primary one being Day Of Darkness II (best if watched in HQ). It is based off the EVE Chronicle, Gallente-Caldari War: The Breakout.
Dire Lauthris has a following similar to John Rourke, and with good reason. They are both fans of EVE who take time out to produce wonderful works of art.
By the way, if you ever want to learn more about EVE’s back story, EVE Chronicles (available here and here) are great stuff.
Hey guys, was just looking on Facebook, and got a link to this article from NPR about Eve and it’s Economist. It might be old news to some, but, nevertheless want to share it with y’all. Hope you are all having a good one!!

Fixed that for you.
Edit: You already fixed it. d:
Thanks Fastcart. I didn’t have my coffee this morning, and my brain was stuck on stupid!
Ian Chisholm AKA John Rourke posted on Facebook back on October 7th (heh, day b4 my bday) that he’s working on Clear Skies 3 (abbr. CS3 [yes, I know]).
I guess the biggest news to post here is the myself and Mr Powles have been working on a script for Clear Skies III. I know, I know, I said no more but we’ve got about four really cool things on a technical level that should push it over and above CS2.
I always said that I didn’t want to just grind out another one that was the same as CS2, as that’s be treading water for a year and wouldn’t be fair on me or you - but now we have an opportunity to go over and above what came before. Best I don’t cock up the script with the sheer size of the fanbase awaiting it!
Due to trying new things and learning new stuff, I’m estimating a completion date of the end of 2010. It seems a long way off I know, hopefully things will move faster, but you never know what life is going to throw your way.
Just yesterday, he said they started voice recording.
In other news, CCP posted 4 new videos. The Hangar series (my name for them) seems to be a response from the player base wanting a screensaver of the backdrop shown in Fanfast 2009. You can download them from the EVE site and put them in Dreamscene (available for Vista and now XP I think). Huh, I just read MS has a “Microsoft Video Screensaver” as well.
These are way better in high quality.
I’ll prolly email these directly to Sean, but I saw these and thought of him.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxUY5QoZQZg I had to laugh at 1:17 to 1:22.

I’m sure Sean and others would just go to town remaking their characters. I wish I could hire (for free) to do my characters for me.
Not sure whether anyone actually reads old podcast threads, but I saw this on the EVE forums.
But…

Seriously, you all still here?
You know, every time I get swamped by how much of my life this series has taken up, I just have to read a page or two in this monster thread and suddenly it’s all worth it.
I’m working flat out on CS3 - my job is now shift work so I’m doing what I can during downtime at work, and doing 7 to 12 hour days on CS3 during my off-shift time. I’m balancing that with spending quality time with my lovely new girlfriend, although sometimes I do rope her into assisting with the motion capture process - I think she finds my prancing about in front of cameras quite amusing
I wish it could go even faster but I’m wholly limited by the sheer size of the episode 3 project. It’s a monster. I also wish I could share with you the results so far because I hate making you wait, but you’re going to have to wait for the official trailer The list of improvements is myriad, though - Motion capture is only one of the new things - I’ve got a director of photography who’s taught me proper lighting techniques, more sets/locations, something special on the external shots front, two professional hollywood actors involved thanks to an amazing coincidence, better sound, oh and it’s all in high def at last. Also, I think the script is pretty damn good, but most of the voice acting is still fairly dodgy
I’ve damn near half an hour of produced footage now. I’m working on some action scenes so that I can knock up that trailer you all deserve. I know it’s been about 18 months since CS2 came out but bear with me just a bit longer, my MWD is on

I’m glad to have found this podcast from a while ago - it was great to have many great guests; Juan, Ian and Eve player Mynxee. Really added to the show.
MMO Eve Online sounds terribly awesome. Mynxee really gave me another angle on the game while not take it too seriously - it’s only a game. Thou’ am worried social life, family, friends, pets and house plants will all suffer drastically if I start playing Eve Online. Sean’s hooker experience was hilarious - really underlines the open style play. I’m really terrified starting now - heh.
Guest-caster Juan was funny and informative while never interjecting which I thought was class. Ian Chisholm was an excellent guest to have on, very funny and well modest for producing such a feat. His stories about doing the various aspects of his films made me smile and laugh out loud a few times. I’m off to stream Clear Skies and CSII. Also looking out now for David Weber’s Honorverse - always good to find another universe of many books to enjoy. I’ll go and hunt out the old Alien / Aliens arc - a nice lead on from all this space exploratory / mining talk…
Keep up the great work - as always.
Jamie
I had not heard of David Weber’s Honorverse until this podcast referred to it. After the podcast I picked up a copy of “On Basilisk Station” and I haven’t been reading much of anything else since! I’m currently on the 9th book in the series “Ashes of Victory.” The series is now one of my favorite of all time and holds a place in my heard next to Lord of The Rings, the Narnia Chronicles, Tom Clancy’s stuff, and anything Charles Dickens (I know, it’s quite the variety). I’m really looking forward to completing the series as well as checking out the other books in the Honorverse besides those that directly follow Honor Harrington. I hope you enjoy it as well.
Welcome to the Forum!

Still 3 or 4 months of development to go, there will be a full trailer in March if all goes to plan. CS3 has been taking a lot longer than I anticipated, partly due to the amount of New Stuff we are doing, but also partly because it’s simply a longer film! Nearly there!

I could not stand the narrator of the audio books! I gave up on Basilisk on audio. The books are fab, though–just read them rather than listen.
