I have agree with Radio Picon. Nubia was up the Nile from Egypt and was very much of a similar culture with the Egyptians. Here’s a handy map from wikipedia, Nubia being called the Kingdom of Kush at the time.
Egypt normally dominated Nubia/Kush. In the New Kingdom, conquering it. Aksum/Ethiopia is farther south-east and wasn’t as connected to the Nile culture of the Egyptians and Nubians.
The Hittites were from modern Turkey.

I listened throughout all 3 of your BSG Finale podcasts to see if anyone ever mentioned this:
Did anyone else catch the theme from ALIEN incorporated throughout certain parts of the finale? It’s totally there! I think you can hear it either as part of Hara’s theme or when they are about to reference the Opera house. Please tell me I’m NOT the only one to hear this! It happened a few times throughout the last 3 hours.

Doing a little bit of catchup with the podcasts here…just listened to this one here, and I’m so excited that Sean is getting into Death Note. Awesome! I only got into the comics a couple of years ago after watching the (real live people) japanese movie version of Death Note. The movie (and now at least two more sequels)was pretty good in explaining the premise and a good ‘scary’ (though, slighty cheesy too:)) movie overall, I wonder if the movie is available in the US at all. But if it is, I definitely recommend it for watching.
I’ve watched the anime and the Japanese movie. Have tickets to the new movie one coming out at the end of this month. Have class the night of the dubbed version so I’ll have to go to the subbed the night before (was going to go to both :()
