I know that everyone has been wondering about Kara being the Harbinger of Death and when will that come to pass. Has anyone thought maybe it already has? I think that it has, she lead them to the Final Five’s Death or place of original death. I agree that her dad is most likely Daniel, but it is still very plausible that she is Daniel as well. When Ellen and Cavil were talking about him, Ellen stated that Cavil corupted Daniel’s Genetic Code, possibly turning him into Kara.
I would also add that on a larger planet, some of the orignal colonists might have settled on different continents and kept their identities, like the difference between Europe, Australia, Africa and the Americas.
So there may have been 12 colonies, but they might have been on less than 12 planets. There would have to be more than two planets though because otherwise there wouldn’t be a need to maintain inter-planitary trade and the expensive ships and support vessels that support that trade.
Ron D. Moore says – not really a spoiler here, but just in case:
in a couple of the podcasts, very clearly, that the “Harbinger of Death” referred to her blowing up the Resurrection Hub.
And, him being Ron D. Moore, mastermind of the show, you can either believe him or trust that he’s misdirecting you strategically OR believe that what he’s saying is true in that particular moment, subject to change As Plot Dictates. I’m partial to the invisotext explanation.
I’m ambivalent about the podcasts. I love 'em, but sometimes they (apparently) clear up material I wish was cleared up in the actual show.
It’s possible for habitable moons to exist, since many scientists think our solar system is an anomaly, and that gas giants within the habitable zone are common. But twelve different ones in one system? So many things have to go right to have a habitable planet or moon, it stretches credulity. But of course, maybe only one such system exists in the galaxy, and that’s why humanity settled there.
That makes a lot more sense to me than 12 planets in one system.
You know, with FTL drives I can’t believe they didn’t explore and find more habitable worlds; after all, Galactica did it. Do you think maybe the colonies had colonies of their own?
I agree that he’s pretty straightforward in his podcasts.
I know people often bring up “Ron Moore said Starbuck was dead,” when one mentions info from a podcast, but I find that to be a silly comparison. Starbuck’s return is such a huge secret that even a cagey answer like “Wait and see” would have blown it. The only way to keep it was to lie. But when RDM voluntarily gives up a piece of information when explaining something about the show, I believe we can trust it.
You KNOW someone had to ask why they didn’t show the continents of Cylon Earth in one of those post episode interviews, and most likely he refused to answer and politely asked the interviewer not to include that.
Why? With twelve habitable worlds within their own system (or however it worked out) they’ve got more than enough room. I mean, Tigh claims the Cylon(z) blew up 50 billion humans in the assault. On twelve worlds that puts each with a lower population than we have right now. And we don’t have large deep-space infrastructure.
In the episode “The Hub”, the Eight with Helo prior to the attack had downloaded Athena’s memories and she was able to give Helo a perfect shoulder rub just like his wife.
With the precision and planning the Cavil put into this operation, it seems pretty reasonable that Boomer could have downloaded those memories again, so that she could put on a perfectly convincing Athena act that could fool anyone (Including Helo) but another Cylon.
I’m a bit late to the game here as I’m a bit behind on the 'casts. Listened to this one today and I just want to ask about the whole KFC ad that was being talked about. I live in the UK and watched it onlne so didn’t see it. What did KFC have to do with the prop auction thing? And I think Chuck talked about other ads doing similar things aswell. Were different companies sponsering different lots or something?
And about the episode, until I heard the 'cast I completely forgot about the Roslin scene at the end. I don’t even remember thinking about it after I’d just seen the episode. Must have totally passed me by. When it was first mentioned I was like “Whaaaa?” for a little bit as I really didn’t remember it.
