GWC Podcast #146: Two Hours With Richard Hatch

Bumping TEP’s horn (or something like that) just b/c it’s a frakin’ big deal.

(Side note, I lost track of this b/c I went round and round with Tor trying to recover my login. No go–had to reregister. But they gave my attempts more consideration and help than I’ve seen in sites I actually pay for. TEP, if you’re reading this, Torie needs a raise. KTHNXBAI.)

Your BAD!

um, best interview I’ve ever heard! This guy rocks. Would be interested to hear if anyone went to one of his seminars. I may have to attend one.

(Did not read entire thread - sorry if this has been asked)

Evil does it for me though, count me in  I’m totally up for standing long periods of time, I’ve even got good work experience at it.

Well, I’m afraid I have some bad news. Despite the massive interest expressed in the Adm. Cain Fan Club, the praise heaped upon GWC by TOR (see above posts) is forcing us to shut down. I have learned through back channels that our daring and eclectic group, due to its novel premise (evil is good), threatens to undermine GWC’s status as the best BSG site in this, or any other, galaxy.

I know - the disappointment is palpable. To cheer yourselves up I suggest that one last time, and in memory of the great admiral, you shoot a friend in front of horrified onlookers - just to make a point. And, for those of you fortunate enough to be attending the big meet up in Dallas next month, during the watching of the BSG episode, please position yourselves in the “standees only” area that will be provided. Also, show your true testiness by snapping back at anybody who has kind words for you.

I feel a bit late to the party in this post, but I couldn’t really listen to the RH interview; I managed for half an hour or so, but RH just came across angry and pissy, like he was taking it personally that his character isn’t more liked. Am I the only one who felt that way??? :o

Zarek is never going to be a favorite character of mine, mainly because he just isn’t around enough, but what’s always irked me about Zarek is that he’s a shit-stirrer for the sake of shit stirring. Especially in ADFMS, he’s stoking the fleet’s anger, but he’s not offering a better solution for the people he wants to lead. And considering that he’s a character who seems to thrive on being an outsider, would it really be in anyone’s interest to put that guy in charge?

And as much as I love Adama and Roslin (yep, shameless and unapologetic 'shipper here), I’ll admit that they’ve frakked up here, awesomely frakked up. Zarek may appear a better option, but I have serious doubts about that. But as always with this show, I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

Anyway, sorry about the rant. I think it’s totally awesome that the GWC crew is landing these kinds of interviews, but it sucks that I just couldn’t get into this one.

I was surprised at how much he identified with Zarek, at first, but he is an actor, and that’s pretty much his job. You should try to finish it, he has some interesting things to say.

I listened to the interview in pieces, and it’s worth slogging through if you have the time. Yeah, there’s a rough patch or two. But it’s rare that you get anybody to really open up like that in that kind of in-depth discussion. It’s nice to get the whole ball of wax like that, unedited. And the Zarek discussion couldn’t be more timely.

Jeez. You’re off the board for day or 2 and the whole ‘Evil is Good, Admiral Cain Lead Us!’ thing is over. Never even got the tags made. Sigh. All that standing practice too.

No matter, I’ll find another outlet for my testiness. Let me go find my friends…

Sorry - I know this is a crushing disappointment. But it is for the greater good of the GWC community. There are those of us who will honor her in secret - by standing at odd moments.
