I just recently watched the season 4.0 finale and the shot when everyone starts hugging, Gaeta and Hoshi totally have a ‘moment’, which I completely missed the first couple times around.

now that 8 is in Colonial Raptor flight suit, we can’t call her BYBB8 anymore. And I think the little girl she mentioned back on New Crapica is a nod to the girl that Starbuck thought was her daughter.
by the way, i just want to say not only the Grace Park the definition of yummy, but the girl is a work horse! I mean she was on The Cleaner, she was shooting BSG 4.5, then did the webisodes, and now she is on the Canadian show Boarders. Does she have 26 hours a day or something?
Actually… How long as it been since Cottle took his leg? I didn’t get that great a look at the stump, but if he’s using a prosthetic, he shouldn’t have any remaining scabs at all, flaking skin, sure, obviously some visible redness of new tissue, but definitely no scabs - then again, I’m working under the assumption of a staffed, specialized physician. It could be as simple a matter of the CIC needing Gaeta back faster than he was healing or Gaeta himself demanding the prosthetic before actually being physically ready for it. Who knows?
Anyway, depending on how long it’s been since the amputation, he’s not the FC - he’s freakin’ Wolverine.
Quick breakdown of therapy (in the best case scenarios) :
Month one, post amputation: Healing. Praying for no infection.
Month two: Depending on the ratio of healed tissue, light callousing of the new stump for use in a prosthetic.
Month three: Fitting for prosthetic, receiving, learning to walk with the frakkin’ thing/deal with the pain/weekly meets with ol’ Doc to ensure no blisters or welts have formed from the constant rubbing of prosthesis.
But again, this is the same group of people that let an injured man roll around on a poo barge because some blonde chick had to go talk to a waterproof toaster. There’s no telling what poor Stumpy’s dealing with medically.
That’s one possibility. The other is that he does whatever’s necessary to get what he wants. I find that idea disturbing, though, because he’s either playing with Hoshi’s emotions in order to get Morpha, or he played BYBBQ8 for the sake of the people on that list.
Or, worse, he’s playing both of them.
Of course, if that’s the case, then we needn’t feel bad about what’s happened to him, since he clearly would deserve it. Consider it BSG’s version of the special hell.
