GWC Podcast #117

We dive into the Terminator universe this week, starting with T1. Highlights: we discuss the rise of Skynet, note the differences between Skynet’s AI and that of the Cylons and The Matrix, notice the Governass and (heinously visible in the DVD on the big screen) Schlonginator, love how this 20+ year old sci-fi flick totally withstands the test of time, diss the Tech-Noir, hear Audra’s Terminator hair report, contemplate the nature of Reese’s Mobius strip of time, and wonder how Reese managed to become a 30-year-old virgin carrying a picture of his boss’s mom. Don’t forget to call in your T2 thoughts: 214-296-9229.

AUDRA!!!

“It was swinging.” I can’t stop laughing.

Did you guys freeze frame to make sure it wasn’t a cock-double? Are there birth marks?

No. But it’d be difficult to double the rest of his body.

(Notice how I carefully avoided using the word “hard.” I know this audience.)

1 naked sitting governor down, 49 to go.

It’d be neat to discuss fate/destiny in reference to the Matrix, Terminator, and now Watchmen. Anyone?

Regarding Chuck’s “plasma rifle up the ass (Sorry Barb)” idea:

In one of the comics, Terminators came back with captive humans who had future tech weapons implanted in their guts. Everyone comes back naked, and Terminators punched into their “mules” and pulled out the guns.

The Terminator movies make destiny pretty much an absolute. Skynet and John Connor essentially create each other in their attempts to destroy each other.

thus began my hatred towards time travel stories…

Time loop?!?!?! serenity now!!

An even bigger issue: what happens if one of them manages to destroy the other?

The A.P.E. Awards are now officially posted.

Rock on

Since Audra mentioned the Terminator going back before Sarah Connor was born:

Ya know, Ive never seen the 1st Terminator…maby its time

“Year 0000?” There was no year zero. That’s why centuries really start on '01.

Now in the Traveller universe, the foundation of the last empire was marked with a Jubilee year, which was designated the year 0.

Comedians aren’t known for their math or history skills.

Some one asked me why I like dogs so much. K9 alert system. Need I say more.

Where is the Sean/nailgun video? I can’t find it.

I think this must be it…

Jason said in his call: “…southern California, on the west coast…”

Was someone thinking about that particular town in southwest Pennsylvania that is home to California University of Pennsylvania?

3 words - see below!

Sweet! Looks like endless hours of podcasting have honed Sean’s presentation skills. Kudos, Padre!
