Well for once I am correct. The price is going up. Was that a bid price or a price the owner wanted?
As someone in her mid-twenties with younger siblings in their early twenties… I do know people who haven’t seen Star Wars, but they are rightly ashamed of the fact that they never saw it. They do, in fact, know who the major characters are even though they haven’t seen it.
That said, my sample is pretty small and skewed towards the types of people who would have a lot of knowledge about random things, so yeah.
I’m still in shock… especially since I got something on my course evals a few semesters ago appreciating my youth because the students felt that I understood them better (I’m not sure how right they are on that, but still). So maybe Audra’s students are just an anomaly?
It was the price the owner wanted outright if you wanted to just skip the bidding. Here’s the link:

If I read it correctly someone bought it at that price. Dang I wish I had some extra cash to toss around.
By the way, if anyone is interested in the contest:

Wow!, we’re neck in neck!
No, side bets folks. There is NO gambling going on here.
All this talk about the original trilogy got me thinking about a youtube video called TROOPS which came out a while back. A very funny parody of what “really” happened on Tatooine. Enjoy!

If your into the parodies you should also check out Pink Five films. They were actually Lucas Films award winners for Fan films. Its the story of a Valley girl character existing within a tangent story line of the movies. Here is a link
The puddy-tat knows the songs and most of the words, now. She is 5. We listen to it every morning at her request!
Yeah, whatta ya gonna do?
Indeed, Sir, you are.
Where are you? I didn’t even know about it here in SD. The hub called me cause he heard it on the radio, oohwooooooh, on the radio!
You must have been nearer the epicenter, I think- I hope Lady D was alright!
Stumbling around in the dark, bkitty finds the light switch- it was then she discovered she’d been given an inverted mohawk…
I have seen these and they are also awesome!

So i too am rewatching them and they kinda remind me of a Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead
without the Existentialism and if the main charater was actually in the movies. But she interacts with the movies and causes things to happen that you see in the movies that are unexplained.
The first one is pretty good but pretty simple.
The second one gets much better and much funnier. Its got one of the funniest Yodas.
The third set is even better with much higher production values and comedy including a pull start X-wing
Speaking of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, has anyone read these comic books?
For those who haven’t, here is the Wikipedia description:
Tag and Bink are the Rosencrantz and Guildenstern of the Star Wars universe, a pair of minor characters who deliberately or accidentally influence the events seen in the first and second film trilogies. Their meddling also explains some of the inconsistent and illogical events of the series. In fact, the title of their initial appearance–Tag and Bink Are Dead–is a direct reference to the Tom Stoppard play Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead.
Props to Sean for sharing his trading card story! I had a whole big shoebox of ‘em, too, and wish I still did. One thing I remember clearly is that a card of Darth Vader had the caption “Dark Lord of the Sith” on it – so at least that much was firm in Lucas’ mind back in 1977.
Great series, gang! I wish I had the time to go back and read all these pages of what I am sure are wonderful comments!
Yea i’ve heard about them but have never read them. I understand one of them is the Storm Trooper that cracks his head on the door frame in A New Hope
all this talk of the road less traveled
“why don’t you care where you’re goin’?” - kaylee
“'because how you get there’s the worthier part.” - book
blasphemy! Bruce “don’t call me Ash” Campbell is an American hero. don’t call him French, you commie!
i was on the phone (and posting here!) with my friend who lives in corona and she said “whoa!” well “WHOOAA!” and i was just about to say “what?” when i felt WHAT…i guess the epicenter was chino hills which is about 30ish miles from me…there was a little aftershock about an hour or so ago too! i wanted to ask if you got to see hugh jackman at the con?? so jealous cause i knew wolvie would make an appearance to plug the new movie (my tattoo guy told me he probly would and he was right!!) sooo jealous of those of you that got to go!!
I love Chuck’s comment, “When you hire Boba Fett to do something, it’s very expensive and it gets done.” It must just be because my family and I are in the process of moving to a new house, but I am picturing Slave I as a moving van with Boba and his crew, all in Mandalorian armor, carting the refrigerator and the sofa out the door. Their slogan? “No Disintegrations!” of course!
i guess most people there would know him as Wolverine, but i wonder how many people asked him about his role as Dr. Tommy Creo in The Fountain. X-Men is great and all, but his performance in The Fountain is just astounding. the man has chops like…um…a butcher shop?
i haven’t even heard of this one…is it an upcoming movie or an old one? but i LOVED him in the prestige! and (gulp) kate and leopold and even (GASP!) van helsing…can’t help it…love the female vampire chicks and chicks in tight leather pants kicking ass!! i was also lucky enough to get a copy of him performing oklahoma on stage…that boy’s got talent!!
The Fountain is a few years old. Its as has love story told intermixed over Three ages that intertwine. Its a movie that you may need to watch more than once cause it has so much going in it. But it is very cool and Pretty.
