As in, Lucifer the cylon from original BSG?

all these books are pretty much the only star wars things i have left of my childhood star wars items (i took better care of them though and didn’t eat while looking at them like SOME people!!) and a full pristine set of rotj bubblegum trading cards that i didn’t use in my bike spokes…i listened to the story of star wars until my tape almost warped!! my dad was cleaning out the garage round about 1985 ish and tossed all the star wars action figures and ships (and the original barbie and ken along with convertible car that belonged to my aunt candy…gramma and auntie were dead and those were the only things i had to remember them by) OUCH!!! i still dont’ think he understands the value (sentimental as well as monetary!)

that was the first movie i saw after boot camp!! i think it was a double feature at the PX with wild orchid or something…

and I LOVE being old and in college cause i totally embrace the DORK side…and straight up chastise the class and tell them y’all don’t talk you’re gonna have to listen to me AAALLLL SEMESTER!! don’t be shy!! cause i’ll straight verbally bitch slap any o them youngins that makes anyone feel dumb for participating!! lol!!

and TALOS you da man for finding that passage in gwtw!!

I once said do not forget the flip side of the paper to remind them that there is something on the back of a handout. I then used it as a history lesson.

The mindset list just makes me feel old. My students help me feel young.

I am with you but I do not drink scotch.

Definitely Stockholm Syndrome…

I have no sympathy for you party folks at the Con. I hope you are having fun.

You mean, Lando is sketchy as hell, right? (am I allowed to say hell, or is that another SorryBarb?)

Well, it is summer break…

(Yeah, that threw me too.)

At least you got a warning…

Give props where props is due. This was done by someone named Moira Murphy. Check out the artwork at http://tosart.blogspot.com/

Fun stuff.

no way. Lando isn’ sketchy. You know what you are gonna get with him. He looks out for his people and also his profit. and really…Blue Silk shirt. Purple Cape. A real PDA in the form of a dude. Total Pimp. All he was missing was a cane a gold tooth and a hat with a big feather in it.

to answer you about The Emperor:
Ian McDiarmid played the emperor in episodes 1-3 and episode 6.
Was not at all in episode 4; and there was a different actor who provided the physical appearance/voice of The Emperor in episode 5.

The pig looking creatures from Bespin are ccalled “Ugnauts” and the giant green pig/body guards in Jabba’s palace were indeed “Gamorean Guards.”

You guys should look into some podcasts dealing with the clone wars cartons, and the upcoming movie !!!

The only actor/actress to physically/vocally perform in all 6 of the star wars movies was … Anthony Daniels <C3PO>
Well, he provided his voice in episodes 1 & 2, but, according to what I read, he is the only actor who was in all 6 movies. Especially as the same on-screen character.

I’m going to give my interpretation of the Luke fighting the imaginary Vader in the cave, because I liked what was said on the podcast, but that’s not how I understood it. Yoda, being the powerful Jedi he is, has some ability to see the future, but as he says it is always in motion. There are many possible futures, one was what he saw actually happen on screen, but there were many other possibilities too (think of Muad’dib’s visions in Dune). Luke could have been killed at Cloud City. Maybe Vader could have frozen him in carbonite. But the one future that would have been the worst for everybody was if Luke killed Darth Vader, and became the Emperor’s new apprentice.

If Luke died, Leia could have taken his place, the Rebellion would continue. But if Luke turned to the Dark Side, the Emperor would have an younger and more powerful enforcer, and the Rebellion would be finished. By showing Luke this worst of all possible futures, Yoda is trying to make him more afraid of the Dark Side then death. And it pays off at the end of Return of the Jedi when Luke refuses to kill his father (and thus take his place) and instead faces death at the Emperor’s hands.

i always read it two ways

one was a foreshadowing of the revelation that vader was indeed his father

the other was that he was his own worst enemy …yoda warned him that in the cave would be only what he took with him, told him he didn’t need his weapon which luke took in anyway and so luke took a bunch of negativity into the cave…fear, hate etc…
