My students have been out since the 6th. I know it is hard. This year’s graduation class as freshmen had to start and stop school 3 times for hurricanes. Most years in Florida we have missed some days to strong weather because the schools are used as shelters. Central Florida is one of the safer places so the schools are open for the coastal residents. That means we miss school sometimes when others are in need. Four years ago we were the ones that got hit hard. Nature always wins. 
That’s going to be your job, TG. Me, while the Beave, Wally and Mr. Cleaver are at the hospital, I’m going to slip over the Cleaver house for a little alone time with Mrs. Cleaver, IYKWIM.

This is San Diego, remember. No immediate snow, unless it’s in the “mountainous” East County. I call them the ‘high reaches’.
We were worried they’d tack on extra for the week we missed due to the October fires, but they didn’t. Now we are in a drought, here. Not looking forward to October, when stuff is so dry and anything (see: any moron) can happen…
My girlfriend used to be with the CDF, and she says her Spidey sense still tingles at the smell of smoke. Hackles rising, all that junk and stuff. (shivers!)

A friend of mine who lives in Northern Calfornia had a scare last week. There was a fire that was out of control and moving toward his land. Just over the hill, a guy who raises Alpacas had to evacute his whole herd because of the fire. And now my friend (who also raises Alpacas), who never thot to create an evacution plan has now made it top priority.
Yikes! We got our evac plans together due to the 2003 Cedar Fire. The 2007 fires were a no-brainer after that. But, then, we don’t have a lot of animals to worry over. Just our own hides.

What’s an Alpaca ? 
We get hurricanes, tornadoes, and fires. The smoke is very confusing when the smell of smoke can come from miles away and causes driving problems. Take care to plan for your fur babies. We use fair grounds for animal shelters but you have to get them there. Dogs and cats must have kennels to go to shelters. Here there is only specific shelters will take animals. So plan ahead. Florida pushes everyone to get ready. When the state had money they had a tax free week for hurricane supplies. I hope all the Alpacas are healthy and happy.
So say we all, GR. We need your iron German discipline to keep us in line - assuming, of course, that you’re not really from New Jersey. That would mean a different kind of discipline. Greater finality.
Just to be clear (I was clumsy in my wording), I do not own Alpacas. My friend in California does.
