Yeah, you make a good point about DS9 being a hub of action and interesting stuff. And don’t get me wrong, I watched every episode of DS9 just as religiously as I did all the Treks. But despite all the wonderful things of DS9–characters, plots, intrigue, etc.----I need some “Trek” in my trek. In other words I need a ship that’s on trek to somewhere.
Well, I can see that. Can’t really argue there!
I still loves me DS9, though. It’s an…emotional trek. Yeah!
I hear ya. One thing I will definitely credit DS9 for is best series premeire episode.
I love the whole thing with Sisko all distraught about his wife’s death, and isn’t keen on his new assignment, but at the end of the emotional arc of the episode, he knows it’s what he was meant to do.
Also love how he has to explain the concept of linear time to the Wormhole superbeing. “Each day, we explore our lines, ourselves…” Great stuff.
The “President Lee” was so obvious that I found myself hoping that Romo had written down something on the board other than the all too obvious Lee Adama (gee what a surprise sarcasm)
I thought Romo was still a great character, but I think the Lee arc could have been skipped for stripped down. It seems like uneccessary filler.
Oh, and a couple of points to make:
-
Skulls isn’t a new character Audra. He’s been Racetrack’s electronics officer all along in the background…after Mathias this is the second character you guys seem to have ignored all along
-
Wasn’t it stated earlier in the series that Cylons couldn’t reproduce on their own? So how could the 6 be preggers with Tigh…unless the final five are different somehow…
Have to say, and everyone knows I’m not into bashing anyone except myself (ooh hang on… didn’t mean it like… oh never mind)…
I found it a little odd when Sgt. Matthias karked it that the triad (can’t say Trinity which seems to the current name for the big 3 - it makes me think of Chuck/Sean in a Matrix Trinity outfit… and there’s wrongness there - may be rightness with Audra, who knows, I have no mental photofit for Audra) didn’t recognise her as a stalwart of the almost-background in BSG.
As with all Senior NCOs, whilst officers, such as the likes of Lee and Starbuck are playing at ‘ooh i’m so soldiery snipery ect’, its those poor shmucks actually making sure the red shirts do their jobs - wasn’t it Matthias went down onto New Caprica with Athena?
Yep, she was the one
Starbuck even mentioned her later in that episode, saying something to the effect of “If that marine sgt wasn’t on her toes we’d be dead”
