GWC Podcast #100

If you’re new to GWC, you might want to start with one of the older podcasts as this special ‘cast — recorded live with numerous calls from listeners and members of the GWC community — celebrates our momentous 100th podcast. Highlights: a quick congratulations call from everyone’s favorite final-fiver Michael Trucco, a clip reel of some funny moments in GWCdom (including our first introduction), David’s kick-ass song about the occasion (set to the tune of JoCo’s Still Alive), and lots of interaction with fellow GWCers. Enjoy!

Hooray! The 'cast is up!

Alas! I must wait until I get home to listen!

I’m still embarrassed by the craaaapy connection over the Atlantic…

Woo-Hoo! Just in time for my afternoon shift!

…I can’t remember if there’s cussing…!?

Frak it!

squeee!!!

(now I’ll get to hear everything I missed due to multi-tasking!)

I really appreciated the heartfelt thanks Chuck, Audra and Sean sent out to all us listeners, and I’m sure the thanks is returned by us many fold.

The funny thing is that it is also pledge period for my local NPR affiliate and it struck me how they could have second careers as NPR hosts. They really know how to thank a lister, which is even more impressive since unlike NPR they don’t ask for anything from us!

Congrats! And thanks again for the 100 Casts… Looking forward to 100 more (but hopefully not before we see the final episodes of BSG).

“Don’t paint the devil on the wall”

(German proverb)

Congratulations to The Trinity.
(Yes, we are officially referring to Chuck, Sean and Audra now as The Trinity).
(because they are all in love with Neo)

Funny you should mention it… I discovered GWC through the Rolling Stone article last spring, which described as something like “the NPR of BSG podcasts” – which got quite a hook in me.

Hmmm, you sure they were complementing them?

Heh. Works either way, though.

highlight reel…I only remember some(most of) it
I love hearing the Very Jerry, and knowing who it is

is it just me - or do you guys actually sound younger in the very first podcast…???

yeah they sound mid 40s in the first…late 60s in the 100th

Hah, ouch.

I knwo I’ve referred to Audra as “The coolest” a bajillion or so times over the months I’ve been posting. not sure If I was the originator…but Audra is most definitely the COOLEST!!

Here’s a freaky thing - went to some of my first posts back in Oct/Nov. There are some podcast threads that only have two or three pages worth of comments. Now it’s like six pages is kinda slow. You guys have really made the forum shine.

Frakkin awesome

It should be relatively easy to figure out. IIRC, the next podcast they made mention of that in the intro. So a quick listen to the early ones for that mention should point you at the one it originated in. (I’ve backed up the first fifty or I’d do it now.)

I think Audra’s been referred to as the Coolest since at least last May. I remember after the first meet-up Audra referred to as the ‘Coolest One’, Chuck the ‘Recognizable One’ (based off his avatar) and still trying to get a good name for Sean. It was a while before he became ‘The Reverend’.

GG guys! 100 eps. and still going strong.

I wish I could have made the cast and I’ll send you guys a voicemail tomarrow, but life has a way of biting you in the butt.

On the whole, ‘near end of this part of the series’ thing. We may see BSG go away till October like what Skiffy does with Stargate Atlantis and some of their other shows.

After much thought, I’ve come to the shocking conclusion that The Trinity must actually be Cylon!

What else could explain their ability to: Keep a job in the “real” world, record and engineer all the podcasts (not just GWC), watch all their sundry re-watches, read for their book club, go to the meet-ups, and craft their garage projects ?(don’t forget how cool it would be to have your own droid, Chuck)

There must be many copies and they must have a plan.
Usually this would sound like a scary revelation.
But in this case, it just means there is more of them to go around.

…and more of them to thank,
so to all the Awesome Chucks (how’s that for a Buckaroo Banzai name), Cool Audras, and High Holy Seans, congratulations on your 100th frakin’ GWC podcast!
A toast to you, your achievement, and all the fun and thoughtfulness you’ve given to your whole GWC community.

Now get back to work.
You’ve got a lot on your plate.
…ALL of you.

Woot! Congrats again on 100!
When I ‘called’ in I could only hear you when I wasn’t talking :X
And thanks for taking my call way back when about Bear McCreary going to the same school as Marty O’Donnel!
