GWC Fitness Mix

I think it only appropriate for us to share tunes that go above and beyond that help you go that extra mile by listening to them. I am just starting to cobble my mix together and am looking for suggestions. Some choices I have made (untested!). I would prefer a little geekier than not, but I am equal opportunity on this.

“Leave you far behind” - Lunatic Calm - Matrix soundtrack
"Rush (New York City Club Version - Big Audio Dynamite - So I Married an Axe Murderer Soundtrack
“Everybody Dance Now” - C&C Music Factory

what I usually like to do since I tend to group artists together (not so much on this playlist but on my longer ones I really do) is throw the ol’ iPod on shuffle and take whatever it throws at me

some of this will show my age… but here you go…

“you + Me” - Undisputed truth
" Dance" and “Heaven is a Disco” - Paul Jabar
“lets go crazy” - Prince and the revolution

on another note… Does anyone have a digital copy of Robert Prestons song “chicken Fat” ? it’s like the first celebrity work-out. My mom had the 45 back in the 70’s… worth a shot.

The song that has been getting me to the gym this week is “Run The World” Beyoncé. I’m going to try and put together some more gym playlists, it’s just amazing how motivating the right song can be.

Heya Gang,

There’s no way I could kick it in the gym every morning without music; no question. I really break my gym music into two categories: Music to lift to and music to do cardio to.

Cardio
I’m a big believer in beats-per-minute specific music from folks like workoutmusic.com, powermusic.com and isweatmusic.com,… but I hate top 40. I tend to go more for tribal beats so, I’ve listened to the same 5 albums for the last year doing cardio:
iSweatFitness Music, Vol. 50: Kickbox Training from iSweatmusic.com
Tribal Beat Workout 1 from Powermusic.com
Tribal Beat Workout 2 from Powermusic.com
Tribal Beat Workout 3 from Powermusic.com
Ultimate Latin DanceMix from workoutmusic.com (DJ Juanito)

The Kickbox Training and Tribal 3 are definitely my favorite.

Lifting
Typically harder music with a bit of an angry edge
Rage Against the Machine (Killing in the name of - “F$*! You I won’t do what you told me” - 'Nuff Said)
Bullet for my Valentine (pretty much most things off of the Fever album - Pleasure & Pain has helped me lift some personal bests)
Disturbed (Indestructible is great to kick start a set!)
AC/DC
Avenged Sevenfold
Suicidal Tendencies

Dips
Okay, this is weird but I tend to do dips to one song…
Cobrastyle (Feat.Mad cobra) by the Teddybears.
Don’t ask.

Figured I would post another track that I sometimes crave: it’s a remix of New Order’s ‘Confusion’ by Pump Panel. If it doesn’t sound familiar, it was the track used in Blade I for the “blood bath” scene in the club at the start. OSSIM.
