GWC Fantasy Football League

Yeah, Orton did well for me last year. Which was why I wanted him back. d:

We look to be squeaking by this week. Figures that the Ravens finally get a blowout, but my fantasy game is a nail-biter…

What. We already won bro

What made you pick up and start Felix Jones given his prior performance? He burned me bad.

My other option was Westbrook and I read the news blurb on Jones this week and gambled on it. Essentially what was said was that they were going to give him the ball more.

We were up by 1 when I posted that, after trailing most of the day.

BEARS 4-1!!! WOOT

ok…we can stop the season now

Meh…

I’ll take a win any way I can get it. Go Ryan Torain!

Yeah, winning ugly is still winning

Between the injured Malcolm Floyd, the Lions’ D, and Tampa kicker Conor Barth, I had -1 points. Thankfully, Arian Foster, Kyle Orton, and Ryan Torain bailed me out.

I probably should have reviewed the league’s scoring system for defenses better. I’m getting very little production from that position this year, therehave been two weeks that starting no defense would have been better or the same than what I did start.

A frakkin’ tie against frakkin’ Talos!

Is that the first tie we’ve had?

I frakkin know. I was rooting for Jones-Drew to score or them go for the field goal to avoid the tie. Frakkin annoying.

And here I thought I’d be i some sort of 4-2 tie with one of you guys.

I’m trying to keep perspective and maintain a desire to keep trying. But, it’s so hard this season because it seems like my “educated guesses” of who to swap in and out cost me winning. So, now I’m forced with the goal of having a “winning” season instead of making the playoffs. ):

Talos, my bench made 78 points this week. Your high was 75 right? d:

ouch

I feel your pain, bruther.

It certainly happens. I started playing Kyle orton over Matt Schaub this alst week because through 5 weeks he was killing my high draft pick on a week-in, week-out basis, and it cost me at least one game.

I will suggest for next season that the playoff group is larger. It keeps people more motivated as you don’t need to be lights-out all season to have a chance to win the league crown.

There’s a losers bracket soooo

I mean it’s not like play stops 2 weeks early for a bunch of the league

yeah, but you and i both know that’s not the same thing. if you have, say, 8 teams, then you’re talking nearly 60% of the league is in the hunt stlil. it may not be the most fair way to do it (i think a 6-team format is the most “fair”, rewarding the top two managers for being the best over a 13-week period), it’s a bit more fun, especially with teams that are 2-4 or thereabouts after six weeks. even an 0-6 team could still make the playoffs in a larger pool there. an 0-6 team in this league is already done for the year, because there’s no way 7-6 is a playoff team.

i’m not complaining about our league this year. i’m having a lot of fun, i really like my team and all, and it feels very competitive at 14 teams with top 4 making the playoffs. but i’m jsut putting some thoughts out there.

also, if anyone wants to talk about defense + QB for Schaub/Orton and a player/positio to be named, I’m all ears. I would want a pretty darn good defense, though.
