I feel like a geek for asking, but howzabout a GWC correspondence chess tournament? would it be couture over here? ~_~
Let me think about it. I am somewhat interested.
I’ve always wondered if one could transpose the characters of re-imagined BSG onto the chess board, who would they be?
White would be the Cylons, since they started it first. Lucy LawLess & Dean Stockwell would be white king & Queen since they appear to be the leaders. obviously, Adama & Roslin would be black king & queen.
White knights would be No. 6 & the sharons. Knights always change colour on every move, so do these two. The same goes for Starbuck & Lee and their allegiances btw Adama & Roslin.
Baltar is definitely a white pawn, perhaps a white queen’s pawn that starts up the game.
Rooks have a support function. They help “raise the bar” in chess speak. They can be used to cast “nets” in a opprssive manner in conjunction with bishops. The Chief and Leoben models fit right here.
Tigh is definitely on the black king’s flank, as either a bishop or black king’s pawn.
Anybody else got any thoughts, or can help complete this chess board?
