We were thinking about doing this as well since we can almost see the hotel from our place. Then it dawned on me that the downstairs bathroom has no shower. Figure people might want to shower at least once that weekend, or at least everyone else would like for them to.
This is the BSG event of events…I’ve even been inspired out of Lurkdom to post and cancel my regularly scheduled tabletop RPGs for that weekend…
I’m looking forward to hanging out with folks again. Its hard to believe that after all these years they are wrapping up the show…but its not been that long…and shows like ER have been on for like 15 years…sigh…
So due to my lengthy travel time, I’ll be showing up on Thursday Mar19th, with my flight scheduled to arrive at EDIT 5:30pm /EDIT - would there be someone out there that would be willing to give me a ride to the GWC hotel in exchange for some gas money/dinner? I’d be ever so grateful.
If not, does anyone know what cab companies would operate in the area that I’d be able to contact to get some fee guesstimates? I’d really rather not rent a car (and being 24, they’d rather not rent to me either!)

I’m driving up from the Houston area sometime on Thursday but I have no idea what time. I’m also planning on visiting my Aunt and Uncle who live in Hurst that evening so Thursday is prolly out for me to pick anyone up. Sorry.

I’m going to get a burnished chain for them though…the one that came with them is very bright compared to the tags. Hardware store should have what I want for ceiling fan pull chains in 18+ inches. 
Congratulations and I am so jealous. I can’t wait for Monday (which is something that I didn’t think I would EVER say). Maybe there is a way to antique the chain? Hmm. I will have to wait and see what it looks like with mine.
Mine are supposed to arrive Tuesday - yahoo! How cool to have them for the meetup in Frisco!
Looking forward to a Monday is just crazy man. I don’t know a good way to antique the chain. If I find something that works better I’ll grab an extra or 2.
My laptop of 7 or 8 years is finally on its death bed. I will be limited on how much time i will be on line. I hope to be back on as usual in around a week. I will try to post my dog tags soon.

So what’s going on with the meetup swag? With less than 2 weeks until the meetup, I was just wondering if there will be any or if we just ran out of time. (Sorry…no pressure. I know you guys have enough on your plates right now.)
It’s too late for me to order if they do put up some meet-up swag. 
I leave for TX this Saturday for a week’s R&R before the BIG event.
Did your tags come in Smarx? And Furpey, did yours? I googled how to antique the brass chain…ammonia fumes. Didn’t work too well until I slopped some ammonia on the chain and let it sit a short time. I didn’t even realize that I got it wet until I took it out to look at it.
Maybe they’ll have some swag at the meet up. Or we’re going to make our own while we’re there.
If you thought I was watching for the mail to get my dog tags you should see me now looking for my new computer. I will miss the old boy. We were together longer than most marriages. That is my computer not the husband who broke it. Hubby has been forgiven since he confessed his terrible deed.
