really, David? I could’ve sworn I saw your avatar
(btw, Stroog/Glim, the vid is on my ipod, watch it all the time and I used to hate that song)
i LOVE how he matched up the lyrics “One, two, three, four…” with the numbered Cylons! (“Nine” and “Ten” made me laugh)
…And the part where the song goes “…You know who you aaaare…” and it matches the GWC posters.
Fantabulous work, Stroogie!
It never occurred to me to put it on my iPod. That’s a great idea. How do yo do that? Can it be downloaded from YouTube? (Excuse my ignorance.)
Hmm, how DID you do that, LadyD? I can download videos from YouTube with RealPlayer, but I was trying to get a slightly nicer quality video file for bkitty and Raemani to put on their iPods. I think I’ve almost got it worked out.
I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you
I’m on a mac, so odds are it won’t help you
I use SafariStand to copy youtube vid then convert for ipod using iSquint–both freeware
In Safari, open the youtube page, hit command-option-A, and doubleclick on the name of the video (should be the only one who’s size is changing.) That gives you an FLV file. Use iSquint (free, google it) to make it nice for the iPod/phone/touch.
Of course, that’s assuming you have a mac.
LadyD and Pike, I bow to your technological superiority. BTW, here’s another version of the song you might like if you’re sick of it (it helps if you’ve also seen the original Feist music video):
For the PC, here’s what we do.
My brother downloaded a Firefox widget for YouTube where you can just click on a little icon on the page that says “Download this video”.
Once the file is saved, we convert it using Jodix (it’s free) so it becomes an MP4.
Upload the file on your iTunes so it’s posted as a video.
I’m sure in Pike’s case, it’s the truth, but no one’s ever accused me of “technological superiority” before. little problems like this are why I cough up an extra $100 to apple every year to maintain my .mac subscription
BTW, here’s another version of the song you might like if you’re sick of it (it helps if you’ve also seen the original Feist music video):
That. Was. Priceless!! (as in there is no price, you just keep paying and paying…). you can have my mac when you pry it from my cold dead fingers, but they do know how to make you keep forking it over, don’t they?
Sigh. One reason why I’m resisting the urge to buy my own Mac laptop… I’m sticking with PCs. I’m sure once I go Mac, I’ll never go back…
Thanks Tesser! (and thanks anyway to Lady D and Pike—but I have a PC).
I use FireFox, so using that widget will be easy enough. I’ve got another conversion program to convert for MP4, but it that doesn’t work for me, I’ll give that Jodix a try.
Glimfeather… beautiful job, you totally nailed it, gave me chills
Sorry I’m late posting, I’ve been away on vacation with no internet, just beach.
Thanks Glimfeather… thanks Chuck, thanks Sean, thanks Audra
I recently saw this:
and it reminded me of our old tribute video. Plus, now being a fan by proxy of Sesame Street, this is just awesome.
omg! right to the bow at the end! Had to play it twice for the puddy-tat!
Thanks, Solai!
Omg, that IS awesome ! Glimfeather did a great job adapting that song ! I still watch it…
Stroogie you rock!
Fraking awesome!!!
Indeed, you DO, sir!
MAn he even put me in there w/o me doing anything. Im nowtaking his little icon for me and making it my avatar
