GTA IV comin' in strong!

Well I’m not a sony freak, I do have PS2 though. Although I am pretty anti-microsoft. I would also kinda like to play MGS, but I also want to play Mass Effect. Such a deceision. I’ve also been meaning to get a Wii for ages. I said I’d get one once the first Star Wars game comes out. I’ll see how the Force Unleashed works out (my friend will probably buy it).

Well I got to compare the PS3 and 360 versions of GTAIV this weekend (my brother has it for both systems), and I have to say the PS3 version is noticably better looking and runs just a little bit better. The 360 version still runs and looks really good but it lacks in texture detail and the anti-aliasing isnt quite as clean. Up close the surface details dont quite have the painted water color look that the PS3 is able to pull off, they just look a little flat on the 360. I also noticed a little bit of pop ups on the 360 version, mainly when moving through the map at high speeds. All and all I think its a great game on either system, but I feel like Im making the right move getting it for PS3 when the metal gear bundle comes out.

I think one of the best aspects of the game is the cell phone function-it immerses you in the story more and gives it a more realistic feel-calling someone after you complete a mission for them, getting calls from Roman/etc. about meeting up for drinks…it adds another element to it.

Yes the cell phone does make the game more interesting for sure.

My one and only complaint about the game (other than the camera, but that’s minor) is that outside the main mission levels, it just feels as though there is not much else to do in the game. Bowling, pool, and darts, all get old after a while. Don’t get me wrong the game is still great.

The Ps3 version is supposed to look slightly better, just be careful of which version of the PS3 you play it on because there have been massive freezing issues with it, but fear not, Sony is working on an update to address this. I really don’t care which version anyone buys(I don’t work for Microsoft, and am planning on eventually getting a PS3) but one major the advantage of the 360 version that made me get it is that it will have new downloadable missions and episodes coming out for it. But if you don’t care about that, the PS3 version is probably the way to go.
