I’ve been taking a break from “serious business” (EVE) and picked up GA when it went free to play off Steam. I’ve been enjoying it. Enough that I even went so far to upgrade to “Elite”, doubles your XP rewards and you get “end of mission” loot-drops (was 13 bucks or so). It’s even less right now 50% off (the list-price is $19.95, iirc (I wish I’d waited 
) and I think you can even apply a 30% code on top of that (not sure about the double-stacking).
