General Banter Thread Mark-IV

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I am still working out with my trainer for about a year now. The other thing I have been trying to do is walk every day that I don’t go to the gym. I didn’t realize how little activity I was doing on the days I wasn’t at the gym. The Nike Fuel Band I bought has been a good reminder to do this as I don’t like only having red lights. Not sure how much changes to my overall shape, but I do feel stronger and have better aerobic activity. I try view the gym and walking as life time changes, so even if my physique stays the same I just need to keep going.

Star Buccaneer, sounds like medical issues are really over-riding fitness goals right now. It seems like you are still motivated though, which is the key thing. Good luck!

you know it’s fairly amazing, even as recently asa year ago if someone had told that not only would I be going to the gym 5 days a week, but that I’d Want to go there that often and would get actively twitchy if I didn’t go for more than two days…
It’s a lot to do with sobriety with me I think, coming up on 11 months now and I’ve gone from not thinking I could have a life without alcohol, to wondering if I could manage a day, to a week, a month, to the point now that I don’t WANT to be anything other than clear headed, for today at least.

Congrats on the 11 months Phazed!

Phase, that’s awesome. I was always athletic but I wasn’t always fit. I might have looked forward to my gym days, never would I have thought that my favorite way to kick off the weekend would be a 90 minute workout? Hah. And yet…

That was a good game, but may I recommend ‘Fire In The Sky’ by MMP? Great game. I have book recommendations too…

Well 3 hour trip down memory lane complete. Fun stuff. Solo walk through of rules and first 3 turns. Devastation in Pearl Harbor

FitS sure looks interesting. VitP is a beer and pretzel affair and absolutely FUGLY artwork. FitS on the other hand looks awesome! I’ll keep an eye out for a copy but fear it might be more difficult to find than a 20 year Pappy Van Winkle

Any book recommendations greatly appreciated for the period in question.

Cheers,

OB

The art may be poor, but if a brew & pretzel game is fun to play, that’s what matters , doesn’t it?

My friend had the game, and he always shot me down, because i couldn’t quite grasp the 3-D aspect…

So, when I saw it, I had to have it!

ABSOTUTELY. It is definitely a RatRod kind of game, but a fun time all the same.

P.S. Sean tell Chuck … Ironman 3 starts next week.

Really looking forward the Ironman 3. Tonight rewatched Ironman, tomorrow Ironman 2.
WhooHoo.

Yup Mrs. Oddball and I have our baby sitter in place for our “date night” next Saturday. Early evening “Ironman 3” show at the megaplex followed by some drop-top A&W cruising for burgers, onion rings and milkshakes

I suspect IM3 will be the AWESOME!

OB

Default Prophet is seriously trying to get me to go to the Thursday midnight show for Iron Man 3, even though I have to be at the hospital at 10 a.m. on Friday. Not gonna happen. I certainly hope Chuck is going to be at one, though.

my local cinema closed in february, two closest ones are castlebar, which is a tad run down and Sligo, which is too far away. I live fiaryly rurally and the cinemas are, respectively 40 and 60km away from me, I wish my local one would reopen, sad panda.

Not to Hi-jack the thread but what other scifi, fantasy etc flicks drop this summer?

Which are the movies folks are dearly looking forward to?

I could hit the Google for this info, but more interested in GWC impressions and trepidations.

OB

FYI … my kindle spell check replaces GWC with F2F … /shrug

how dare you hijack this thread.
That’s my Job

STAR TREK! My partner and I are going at midnight if we can swing it.

We’re also looking forward to Thor 2 but that’s not really “summer” is it…

Are you in Mayo?

Good lookin’ out!

Yup dxf, on the outskirts of Ballina, currently listening to my cats run around my unfeasibly large (rented) house and trying to get some more sleep once i actually presuade myself to shit the darned laptop down.

My family’s from Mayo, waaaay back in the day. Theh left in late 1800’s. Family owned one farm but had nine kids, so most of them had to go. That branch of the family, the name was Moran.
