This is the thread for all things related to the 2014 Geekation Meetup to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada. When details firm up this post will be updated. In the meantime, please check posts below for information as it becomes available.

Added on December 12, 2013: Geekation2014 will be held on 25-27 April. More information including lodging, transportation, participating podcasts and the weekend agenda are in the process of being worked and will be announced as soon as it becomes available.

Added on January 26th, 2014: Registration is now open at www.geekation2014.com - swing on by and let us know that you are coming and what you are interested in so we can plan events! ALSO: the central site for the meetup is now announced as the Plaza Hotel in the Freemont district. Make your reservation now and we’ll see you there soon!

YES!!! There is an international meetup being planned for 2014!

However, it is changing from previous years and being organized, planned and executed by members of the community. Most specific details are in the works and will be coming out soon but first WE NEED YOUR INPUT on when to have it! The meetup – or Geekation2014 as we are calling it - will be in Las Vegas, Nevada but there are three dates to choose from.

To help in deciding when the best time to hold the meetup is for everyone please goto the anonymous survey to vote: [b]http://doodle.com/i86gm76cw2rmbux9[/b] Please get your votes in by Wednesday December 11, 2013.

Stay tuned for more specifics like hotel, costs, transportation/ridesharing, etc… What is most important to making this happen is to vote on the date survey by Wednesday December 11th.

WE HAVE A DATE! Geekation2014 will be the weekend of April 25th – 27th, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada!

We will be working specific details on the agenda, hotels and possible availability transportation soon as well as announcing specific podcasts that will be recording Saturday night. Additionally, as with previous international meetups, there will be informal activities starting the Thursday before through the following Monday. What we do know now is that the hotel rooms will be under $100 per night with an entire Thursday through Monday stay expected to be under the $350 price point.

As you know, there are a multitude of details comprised in planning, organizing and conducting an event like this. If you wish to assist in hosting the event and help make the weekend as big of a success as possible, please let me know or send a note to Geekation2014@gmail.com.
