Gaming Virgin -Help !

(Sorry I posted this over in “Games”, but should have been here with the Hive-Mind)

Ok, I sorely need the hive-mind help.
I want to start gaming. I need to know what equipment to get.

I know I want a Sony PS3 ( for various reasons), so that’s my starting point.
Where I am we have a Best Buy, Radio Shack, WalMart, GameStop.

I have a 32" HD TV and Bose headphones (not wireless) - that’s it.

For at least the next 2 years, I’ll be in this rural area with really crappy internet at home,
so I’m not looking for online play just yet.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Assume I’m don’t know much.
Speak slowly and use simple words

Games I’m interested in:
Assassin’s Creed
Halo
Mass Effect
Elder Scoll
Journey

Just an hdmi cable, get one from mono price . Oh also a long USB to mini USB cable so if you have to charge your controller you can still play while it charges

dot com. I’ve never bought from them before but just looking, their prices are good. I just buy from Amazon as it’s easier, free shipping, and they’ve already got my credit card number.

If you pay more than $10 for an HDMI cable you’re getting robbed. The prices I saw there seem very reasonable :slight_smile:
