Game of Thrones 2x10 Valar Morghulis

WELP The watch is right and proper fucked

Please tell me we can FINALLY dovetail the Dani and the rest of Westeros stories next season. Yeeesh.

Well That bit of locking him in the vault changes things significantly from the book… Season three will have LOTS of surprises…

And he who shallath rescued the city should havveth be disgraced by allovthem.

I wonder if their kids come after their Mama or Papa.

Littlefinger this season didn’t do it for me. Vary on the pother side got so much more interesting. *omgthelastchapterof…

How long do you suppose it’ll take for Jamie to crack her…if ever?

Here you would have called Theon’s Raven killing decision: “Ins eigene Knie gefickt” aka “to shoot oneself in the foot

Especially his ending.

I can only assume that Tyrion expect Cersei and other go after him even when he has left Westeros.

NOOOO! Please don’t make that assumption. #thepennygames

I was asking myself the same thing. He hardly could have robbed out of the secret passageways. And how he got past the Bastard’s forces that surrounded Winterfell…

If they wanted to depict HotU scenes like it was in the book, they would have needed at least half of this episode.

Me too, was totally surprised he had a cameo in the Finale and how TPTB managed to keep this spoiler under wraps.

I had no idea who he was talking about. So it was the Others?

Like they switched a switch with Dany.

That is the new band name of …?

Depending how much breathing air they have left in the vault and somebody gets his hands on the key…

WTF Pycelle you little piece of shit!!!
Oh, that is hard for Loras to ask Joffrey for. Oh no! I don’t wanna know how this little douche will love other people like Margaery.
Ros is sounding like she got beaten on the head a few times too many. And BTW, how did she get released from Cersei’s grasp?!

The Brienne/Jamie banter is so great. Season 3 has more of that I expect.
Shit, that was some intense killing by Brienne!!

Stannis strangling her…that is what I expected after reading the book. God inside of Stannis, WTF?!
What the Hell did they see in the fire??!

I don’t remember from the books if Luwin also suggested to Theon to join the Night’s Watch.
OMG, that ending of his speech was anti-climactic. Lol
And there goes he…a bit short and not so grand like in the book.

Poor Tyrion, all his Allies are gone. Well, that is just a tiny scar.
WOW! I hope this Tyrion scene will be the one for the Emmy nomination, and not his speech in “Blackwater”, I has a sad.

Sigh. Looks like we will only see Dany’s adventure in the House of the Undying next year.

Love me to see some more Jaqen H’Ghar next season. L
FACELESS MAN…YESYESYES!!! Now please show us his trick!!!
How frustrated Arya looks when she says she has to find her sister as well.
Niceeeee! Jaqen pronounced “Valar Morghulis” just like I would have.
Ohhh, I think I know what the coin will do when Arya says the words.
Holy shit that was quick! I thot we would see his face transform. Great shot!

Ohhhhh, as much as sad it is, I would have liked to see how they burned down Winterfell.
OMG! I nearly had tears in my eyes during the wide-shot of burning Winterfell when they are leaving. Damn emotional music.

Puh, we get to see something from THotU. Vision time folks! Ah, the throne room…with Snow. NOT GOOD! Snow, or Ash, what do you think?
North of the Wall now…what the hell is going on?! Oh no! That has to be the tent where the Blood ritual took place last season! HOLY SHIT! They got Jason Momoa! With their child!
The Warlock tried to lure Dany to stay in her vision with Khal Drogo. But she resisted. Come on, say the word now “Dracarys”. Ohhhh yeah! BBQ is open.

Holy shit! Qhorin really is serious to sell them the fight so they trust Jon.
Ohhhh, that is one big Army.

I knew that Doreah would be a traitor in the show! Did they throw her in the vault with Ducksauce?
And where did Dany get so many Dothraki again??

“Just bloody kill me!”
Just Wights…OMG! OTHERS!

Glad they had that extra 10 or so mins of that much needed time!

My first thoughts on the finale is that I really liked Theon’s arc throughout it. Very effective and emotional. And Luwin! I totally cried a little, which sort of surprised me a little.

And half of the budget that’s left after Blackwater. Even though they cut so much from the HotU experience, which I guess I sort of expected anyway, I was actually quite pleased with the version they ended up with. It was evocative and effective…and some excellent cost efficient directing. Much like Jaqen’s face change there. But I think they hit some good emotional beats in there even though it totally cuts out the bulk of all the predictions bits.

Yeah, definitely. I still wish they didn’t have her wandering around whining “MY DRAGONS!” for the last few episodes, even though I guess thematically even all that whining falls into place in illustrating what her time in Qarth this season meant for Dany.

A while ago, I actually got a friend (who’s a big junkie of all things zombie) to watch GoT because I promised him there are zombies in it.

And hells yeah, Varys. I love that guy. I think his scene with Ros is the only Ros scene all season where I actually get the sense Ros is a person and not just the character the show threw in to exposition stuff. So yeah, he’s awesome.

And not much for Sansa, but I loved that little bit of glee she had after the Joffrey show, and how quickly she slips right back into her “Kings Landing is my home” bs with Littlefinger (who’s perfectly creepy with the “you’re just like your mom” bit).

ETA: Is it just me, or did other people thought “Gandalf!” when the white walker came up on that horse?

Ash, definitely ash… notice the tops/roof of the throne room are melted (like harrenhall)… a vision of what’s to come when the dragons are grown?

Seeing Drogo and the child was fucking brilliant… just tone-perfect, and I love how, when she turns away… making her choice… Drogo goes ‘blank’… same as he was after the blood resurrection ceremony. Perfect subtle indicator “this is all illusion”

Now we have to wait a year?!? sob

There will be a refrak happening tonight at 9 Eastern if any would like to join

I was glad that they didn’t use the extra time to stretch the recap to 5-10 minutes. lol

Yeah, and I guess the many visions might have confused the non-bookreaders a lot. Heck even when I read the books I had no effing idea what they might mean until I found some explanations at the Tower of the Hand website.

Overall Dany’s storyline was really weak compared to the others but in the end they turned it around that I would rate it “fine”.

Have watched some of the Behind the Scenes videos of this episode at http://www.spoilertv.com/2012/06/game-of-thrones-episode-210-valar.html and it was supposed to be snow, although both variants could have been sweet references to the future of King’s Landing.

Great that you mention Drogo’s “blank state”. I just watched the episode for the 2nd time and here are my additional comments:

“…taken root deep inside of me.” WTH, does Joffrey turn you on?!
Awww, how happy Margaery looks. And so much younger than in previous episodes.
Is Jamie doing a Sawyer accent?
Did at the end Drogo look as catatonic like after the blood magic?

For me high points include-

Tyrion hugging Shea when he realizes she’ll stay.

Sansa’s giddy joy at the change in her fate.

Jamie and Brienne’s time together is book perfect as far as I’m concerned. The chemistry between the two actors is amazing.

The Mama/Baby reunion in the House of the Undying. Yes I know it’s all made up shit for the show, but if they can make Dany’s storyline less long and drawn-out than in the books, HUZZAH I say. I was so sick of her by the time I finished ADWD. The dragons are amazing to look at too. I want one! I felt very satisfied by Dany’s arc this season, she is learning.

Those weren’t White Walkers the way I imagined them but boy did they frighten me! How will anyone survive?

Questions/Concerns

I too wondered how/why Ros was releases by Cersei. I figured she was rotting in a black cell. Shouldn’t Cersei have left her dead body for Tyrion to wake to if she really was going to make good on her word?

Dany’s Dothraki- they did multiply, especially the warriors, whom I could have shown were killed when the dragons were taken.

Speaking of Dragons- they obviously have veered away from the books- will that still work for those of us who love them? Too early to call, but so far I am impressed and surprised by the choices they’ve made. I would expect the show to have the dragons grow faster than they do in the books, which I am also fine with.

White Walkers- no interest in Sam? Why? Did he have Dragon Glass on him? I hope that is explained. Surely it would be nothing to stop and kill him quickly, why let him go?

I hate that the season is over! I love this show.

Here for the refraktion, gonna start at 5 after

5 after? Ok…

Where do we start? After “Previously” or after the TV ratings stuff?

Edit: After the intro? What?

Alright I’m starting!

At the Prviously

And I am now humming! DA duh

Alright, I should be “on time” now.

I never got use the the intro music this season. Doesn’t flow well to me. I know they had to extend it, but…
