This scene went differently than I was expecting. I just sort of assumed that he would be surprisingly gentle in private. I guess this is pretty gentle for a barbarian, though.
Those wolf pups are frakkin’ adorable.
Probably not the soundest castle building decision to put all those handholds everywhere.
So what’s with all the frakkin’ twincest?
And… no missionary position? Why’s everyone doing it direwolf-style? :groucho:
In the book it’s played a bit differently. Dany starts to get into it early on.
“The things I do for love.”
The first time I watched this, I had to rewind there. I literally could not believe what I had just seen.
Yeah, The GF wouldn’t let me go to sleep until I told her what happens to Bran.
Yeah, that was… odd. Sort of defeats the purpose of castle walls.
If we refrak next week, we may want to do it earlier as it seems people lose interest after a couple days. What’s the conflict on Monday?
I’m dying to know, but I hate to be spoiled, so I guess I’ll have to wait.
Well, I suspect they didn’t want to limit their casting choices to child actors who are also expert freeclimbers.
Next week, there isn’t one, but usually, it’ll be Chuck. We could probably do it at 9 on Mondays, though.
I’m sure it was driven by the limitations of the actor, but it might have been nice to put some effort into hiding how easy it was to find handholds.
9 on Mondays will be free once SG:U ends
I’d love a next day frak for this, I won’t be able to watch the night it airs. Overall I think this is a great adaptation so far. I can’t wait to see where they go with this. I don’t hae many nit picks but i do have a few, we’ll see how it all plays out over the series though, this is only episode 1.
Oh yeah, I forgot that moved to 9.
In any case, 8 next week will work.
Ok, 2 am (GMT+1) and 8 pm (EST)! Maybe you should make another frak (or calender) entry so that GWCers will notice it!
I’d probably name the building something like Very Awesome Building or VAB for short. Short of like the Vehicle Assembly building at Kennedy Space Center.

I love the animation. First of all you get a sense of space, distance and elevation of the lands. Having not read the books it’s give me a great sense of place and time.
Second, it’s like a combination of steam punk and medieval style simplistic architectural model buildings. It’s something I could imagine a King’s Engineer building.

You know, for a society that needs to spend a lot more time just to live than we do on a day to day basis, that wake seemed very complex, long and unnecessary.
