I love that actress, although I can never remember her name. She played one of the aliens in Mars Attacks! She’s attractive and yet off-putting. Odd combo.

I love how even though this is a comedy, and even a parody, it manages to generate the sense of wonder who’d have if you actually got whisked away into space. Even Alexander’s in awe.

So when my non-Star Trek fan friends made me watch this movie years ago, and I was afraid it would be a mean-spirited, dumb parody, the scene where they pull out of space dock was when I officially fell in love with it. It started out majestic, and then had me in stitches.
