Galactica is the dying leader

Not sure if anyone has posted this theory yet.

There were proponents of theory that Galactica was a Cylon so I’m pretty sure people have thought about it being the dying leader.

It’s certainly dying, but, personally, I don’t see how it’s ever been a “leader” as such.

Ok, I just finished watching this Friday’s episode and the theory is way more obvious than I originally thought. Sorry for that.

As far as Galactica being a leader, I submit this:

Fleeing from the Cylon tyranny, the last Battlestar, Galactica, leads a rag-tag fugitive fleet on a lonely quest for a shining planet–known as Earth

I should also modify my statement. Galactica is a parallel dying leader to Roslynd of course.

Galactica is the leader of the fleet, it makes sense to me.

I think it would be a smack in the face if Galactica was the dying leader, what with all the build up of Roslins character over so many years.

So Galactica shall know the truth of the opera house?

That would be awesome. An outdated bucket of space bolts is the only one that “gets” the opera house.

Galactica will see serpents?

If the fleet is just the physical ships that make it up, then yes Galactica (as a ship) is the leader.
If the fleet is the people then Adama or Roslin would be the leader.

I have to think that the latter is more appropriate in this show.

Exactly!!

Agreed. RDM would have to be pretty convincing to sell me that one.

The dying leader is Roslin, we saw that back in season 4.0. She is going to die this Friday and we will see the full scene that they showed us. While I am sure this is the answer I still have a deeper question. Will only the audiance see the truth of the Opera House or will she tell the others before she dies? I am going to miss Roslin but we have 3 more episodes left and after next week only 2. That means 1 normal episode and the finale 2 hour ending. I guess we where told she would die before the end and now we are going to see it happen.

I still think Roslin is the dying leader. And the dying leader will not see “Earth”. Roslin will probably die next episode and we have still to see the “real” Earth, the fleet’s new “Home”.

Gods, I hope so, or I’m throwing something at my TV.
We better not be left hanging.

If they leave us hanging or pull some kind of stupid trick in the end I.E. Everyone dies, the end )I will sell all my Battlestar DVD’s and chalk the show as a loss.

Admittedly, Roslin as the dying leader makes a lot of sense too. Just saying though.

Even in this show, some things are as straight forward as that. They may throw in the end of the Big G as a metaphorical dying leader to boot.

It makes a certain amount of sense, but I’m inclined to believe that in a show full of metaphor about society as we live in it now, that the Galactica herself serves a completely different purpose, as sort of the America (melting pot) in the fleet of the world with the other ships representing other nations and the Quorum as the UN. That’s just me though.

If Galactica is the dying leader, they better start doing some significant writing to justify something that dumb.

This is not even horizon.

I guess the real question to ask is “Are the prophecies still relevant?”

I’m not even close to being sure they are anymore.

I think there are still clues to be found in the prophesies.
Not that I can find them.
