Fringe 2x11 Unearthed

OK, for the hive mind or anyone else who watches Fringe…

Didn’t Kirk Acevedo’s character (Charlie) DIE a while back, taken over by the body snatcher and dead? I remember Olivia crying and everything. ???

I just caught up on this one on hulu and am sorely confused. I kept looking at the label to make sure it was from this season.

This episode was filmed for season 1, but never aired, nor released with the dvd. There might be some info relevant to future episodes, or it could just be filler if they’re behind schedule. Overall, I thought the episode was weak compared to others, and that they should have just left it out completely.

Well, that makes some sense. I also wondered why it came on a different night but was new. I also thought I had heard the name Andrew Rusk before. It definitely had a different feel…but we must be going to see something out of it.

Thanks!

A young priest! Where’s the old priest? You can’t have an exorcism without both!

Cutting her up for spare parts. Nice.

Not dead!

(OK, I kinda saw that coming.)

“At least they got you some nice balloons.”
“I guess they couldn’t find ones that said ‘Welcome back from the dead’.”
“Yeah, I imagine those would be more of a special order kind of thing, don’t you think?”

Now she’s speaking Russian?

How many frakkin’ languages does Peter speak?

OK, Peter, stop giving Walter crap about communicating with a woman in a coma. You were just talking to a girl who came back from the dead.

Wait. Charlie’s back? WTF?

ETA: Ah, I see.

This episode was shot for the first season, but only broadcast as a “special” episode after the winter break on a different day, with the press release stating that this is either an episode from the first season or from an “alternative universe” (refering to the overall story arc of the second season). The presence of Kirk Acevedo, whose character died earlier in season 2 (but was a regular in season 1), causes a major continuity problem in this episode.

“This is test subject number six.”
“What happened to subjects one through five?”
“I believe the university settled with them out of court. They probably never had to work again.”

. . .

“Not that they could.”

OK, the young priest is creepy. What’s up with him?

ETA: Ah. I remember him from OZ.

She found Rusk.

“Between 5 and 7 AM.” Three days ago? They can’t determine time of death like that.

And there’s the creepy priest again.

“That’s absurd.”
“Perhaps it is. Please allow me a moment to entertain my fantasies. They often lead to a truth.”

I love Walter squaring off with the priest.

“Who told you that?”
“You did. Just then.”

Oh, she’s good.

Radiation + “highly experimental radiation inhibitor”

Yep, that’ll do it.

“Ever since this happened, they think I’m like a freak or something.”
“I don’t think you have to worry about us here. We’re kinda partial to freaks in this lab.”

I think someone’s got a little crush. :stuck_out_tongue:

Walter gave her 100 mcg of a benzodiazepine? That’s a minute dose. I doubt that would even make her drowsy.
