I was in Austria, and caught the episode Fragged on RTL II.
it is my experience that German speaking countries dub everything, and the hotel remote did not have an SAP button, so i couldn’t find out if there was an English track.
After viewing BSG in German, I have to say the voice actress that did Roslin was awesome… Roslin had a couple of very tough scenes in Fragged, especially when Ellen visited, I thought a lot of the acting was in Mary McDonnell’s voice. I think the voice actress captured most of it.
The same however can not be said about the person who played Tigh. Which is a bit unfair i suppose. Tigh’s uniqueness comes more than just his voice but also his unique accent and delivery, which probably cannot just be replicated in German.
I guess the same can be said about Baltar…?
anyway, I thought it was a different experience, and if I got the entire German series on DVD, it’d great way to relearn my German back…
