I don’t know about this… How is Emmerich going to turn Foundation into an action-adventure with lots of explosions?

I totally heard the voice over king’s voice in my head (even though he died) while reading that.
Granted it has been decades since I read the first book, but I do seem to remember space battles in the book. But they were not the focus by any means, but with Roland at the helm that may no longer be the case.
Though he did do Stargate… Maybe we will be lucky and it will be more like that movie, and less like Independance Day.

ID4 had it’s issues, but it’s arguably the best of the movies tanstaafl listed. I haven’t seen the last two admittedly.
Is it just the hokey plot and the Mac saving the world people have a problem with?
Oh god, I just IMDB’d him. He directed Universal Soldier… But, he also directed The Patriot.
Yeah the Computer Virus is where it totally ‘Jumps the Shark’, it is still a fun romp action-wise, with LOTS of eyecandy, but if you want to make a science fiction film you need to treat your audience with a little more respect than that…
Universal Soldier I actually liked, it was never meant to be taken seriously and was just a testosterone fueled ‘gun and fist fest’ and it worked for me, in fact now that I think about it… The only Emerich films I liked were the ones where he had very little money to work with, hhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… you know, that makes him a LOT LIKE LUCAS!
