Yes!! They have a new “Octane Fitness” machine, it kicks your arse but in a good way!! Looking forward to going again tonight.
what is this ‘Octane Fitness’ machine? is it some kind of elliptical?
Yes it’s newer version of elliptical but has a great arem workout as well. It also has several settings for “interval training”, and the one I’ve been using has a fan too! (yes it is the little things that make the workout that much better).
I went running & walking last week a few different days, and mixed it up by going hiking today at a nearby chasm. This week I am going to attempt “Zumba”!!
ah yes gotta love the little fans! I’ve got one on my treadmill and it might just all be in my head but its much easier to breathe when I have it going
also last night I ordered this P90X program http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/p90x.do?code=GOOGLE_SEMB_P90X&gclid=CIahzMfc2JoCFQEuxwoda004FQ&ef_id=1908:3:s_32545c9892e22acb52743badcf473685_3013518793:yPk0ftB6MjYAAFnkCEsAAAAJ:20090526002659
I’ve had multiple friends suggest it, while I don’t expect to ‘get ripped’ what I am looking forward to is a nice varied work out that will keep me interested and not bored
whenever it gets here I’m gonna take some before/after photos so we’ll see how it really works! =P
BSG Widow, how have your work outs been going? I love going hiking but I don’t get to do it nearly as much as I want to =/
Please tell me how it goes with the P90X!! And YES definately do the before & after photos. I have heard all good about the program BUT my understanding is you have to be very disciplined with it as well, and the commitment is pretty tight. I have too many other obligations that have to come before working out. I have to have a flexible workout schedule.
My biggest issue with getting fit & losing weight is stress. I know, working out would lessen it, right?? But since I can’t just run to the gym everytime I start to get stressed, food is such a wonderful diversion! And it doesn’t talk back (most days anyway LOL)
So I am thinking the best way to work towards my goal is do the early morning workout. As painful as 5 am sounds, it’s got to be worse for those who actually work at the gym right? At least I don’t have to be perky @ that hour.
Anyone else have a time frame that works best for them?
My in-laws gave us a Wii Fit as a present Good times
I found that to be true with when I’d run on the treadmill, though since I don’t have to be at work until 8 and I only live about 15 minutes away I would get up at about 5:40, and either lay in bed there for 10 minutes or so to give myself time to wake up, then get up and try to actually start running by 6, that way I’d be done and out of the shower by 6:45 giving me plenty of time to eat/get ready
and yeah I’ve done the intense dieting before and it’s going to be rough, especially with how I’ve been eating lately
I know exactly what you mean about the stress, how at night even when I’m not hungry or even if I’m just bored I find myself grabbing a piece of toast with jam on it or start eating some spoon fulls of peanut butter for no apparent reason
so expect me to be on here needing plenty of support probably within 2 weeks it’s suppose to get here
oooo how is it? I hear while it’s not a great actual full work out but I would tend to think if you’re going to be playing video games essentially doing some movement is better than sitting in a chair snacking or something
so far, it’s pretty fun. and it’s good to have something that they tell me how to do, rather than trying to do things all on my own (especially since using a gym or hiring a trainer or something is really beyond our means right now).
The yoga’s quite fun, the strength training is hard (for us, we’re super out of shape on that front), the aerobics aren’t taxing at all, and my balance can always be improved.
Woo Hoo! How are you doing with it? I am hoping XBox 360 comes out with something similar soon, as I think they would to keep up with the competition. I know it has fitness programs, anything regarding eating healthy, nutrition, etc?
I tried “Beginner Zumba” last night, and all I can say is if you haven’t tried Zumba, it is a MUST DO!!
It was so fun, so high energy, and I laughed at myself having such a good time working out. Of course I was not able to “shake” certain body parts as well as the instructor but it was great all the same.
Will definitely return!!!
I have no idea what that is
so I did my first P90X work outs tonight
and holy crap it’s intense/hard
I can already tell this is going to work amazingly if I stick to the diet
my arms are pretty wiped right now, I can’t really hold them up as high as I normally would be able to right now…lol
And how are you feeling today?
I was sore as heck…and my God…today I did the aerobics workout
I wanted to die…I just got done showering, I haven’t eaten yet but I’m not sure if I’m going to move the rest of the night or not
believe me when I say that was the hardest physical thing I’ve ever had to do…and last year I was running 8.5 miles every other day
What happened to us all??
We are not being very motivated are we? We are bad fitness threaders, time to re-evaluate!!
Got to get some jiggy!! Let’s move it, move it, move it!!
hey I’ve been doing my work outs! they’re just an hour long and I do them after work and when I’m done I usually just shower, eat, then lay down and die until the next morning lol
