This is the first viewing where I noticed that there were crows flying around Orthanc when we first meet Saruman. Now they’re spying on the Fellowship. Nice continuity.
Ok, had to leave for a bit. Frodo is hanging upside down by some water monster just at the gate to Moria. Is this where we are?

Oh Gollum… that’s another thing that I really enjoyed about the film, oddly enough (and excuse the terminology) it humanized him for me.
