I’m not saying that the Ewok scenes aren’t annoying, it’s just I would take the Ewoks over JarJar. I’ve heard that there is a fan edit of EpI that gives the gungans and ailen language and subtitles their dialogue. From what I’ve heard Jar Jar is a total badass type charachter in it, not an annoying ‘scrappy’. I should try to get a copy of that.
But without the Ewoks, we would never have this:

(BTW, how do you insert movies into the post?)
AWEsome…or in Ewokese: Yub Yub!
wow! I’m tempted to include this in my sig
“Huh,” Luke continues, “Couldn’t you like give me a booster shot or something?”
“Yes, well,” Yoda admits, “Midi-chlorians in your cells it is. Gene therapy, my youth keeps.”
“Great.” Luke says, “Let’s do that then. I’ve got kind of a time crunch going on here, what with my friends being tortured and all.”
Now don’t get me wrong. I neither hate nor love Jimmie Fallon, but I do enjoy his version of the ewok song. Enjoy.
My favorite star wars moment was seeing the original theatrical release of “Return of The Jedi.” I was only four when I saw it, but this movie is honestly the earliest memory I have. My older brother was talked into taking me to see the movie, and apparently I embarrassed him and his friend by running around and telling random strangers very excitedly: “I am going to see the return of the shit eye! Return of the shit eye!” apparently having everyone laugh at my excited response only caused me to tell even more people I was going to watch “return of the shit eye.”
I remember loving the Ewoks which were very cool to a little kid, but the most memorable scene for me was watching Luke burn his father’s body. I was pretty young, but I caught the general gist of what the scene was about, and even now, I still find it a pretty powerful scene.
To people who look down upon science fiction I would say films like star wars really changed my life. It really gave growth to my curiosity and creativeness. The star wars trilogy will always hold a special place in my heart.
Buahaahh! Awesome! Now there’s cereal spilt all over my desk. Oh my…
To people who look down upon science fiction I would say
To people who look down upon scifi I just wouldn’t say anything at all
(Pike, I think you may be on to somethng here…)
(scene “reimagined” countinues")
“Impatient, you are, young Skywalker,” replies Yoda, “Fill out forms, I must” takes out clipboard and pencil. “Your healthcare insurance provider, who is?”
“Now listen, you green little pointy eared muppet, did you hear what I fraking said?!!”, shouts Luke, “My posse is in trouble. You get that my JedMaster-Blaster friend!! Now that’s cool and all that you can levitate my viper out of the swamp!! But dude, you gotta break out the good stuff and shoot me up with some of that mini-chlorine stuff now, or I’m gonna clip that clipboard somewhere where it’s gonna hurt!!”
I’ve heard of this too. Is that the so-called “Phantom Edit,” once rumored to have been created by Kevin Smith?
That was one of the problems with that movie, though. None of the aliens have their own language, as they did in the original series (and in the later two prequels). I think Jar Jar would probably be more tolerable had he spoken in Gungan rather than Stepan Fetchitese or if the Neimodians hadn’t had bad Asian accents (and their body language weren’t something out of a Power Rangers episode).
Still, those damn Ewoks suck hot death!
Hey now, Lucky: I’m a musician in no small part because of Star Wars. The soundtrack to the first film (which I saw when I was four in 1977) was the first time I’d ever heard an orchestra. Thirty years later here I am, a classical composer, in no small part because of John Williams’ score. That counts for quite a bit in my book.
were those the Federation dudes? 'cause I thought they had weird French accents.
Everytime in Empire the falcon tries to escape into lightspeed and it doesn’t work.
the reason I fell in love with Harrison Ford, one line: “I know.”
That is pretty cool Armando. I have the trilogy box set on DVD, and my favorite part of the bonus disc was hearing how the movie has really impacted the lives of fans in a positive way.
I saw all of the original trilogy for the first time in the theaters when they re-released them in the 90’s I remember feeling so happy and joining in when everyone in the theater stood up and cheered when the Death Star exploded. So that is my favorite.
When i was little and went to see Return of th Jedi, I got goosebumps during the sequence when R2 launches Luke’s saber into the air, Luke jumps off the ship, then bounces back on and catches his saber. To this day I get hyper when i see it!
“Never. I’ll never turn to the Dark Side. You have failed, your highness. I am a Jedi like my father before me.”
It’s sort of a cheesy line, but it still makes me excited.
Yoda, lightsaber, kicking ass he did…and even THAT couldn’t save the prequels!!!
