After reading these boards I see a lot of people like Diff Comic Characters and would start the Thread for people to post who they like and why!
My Favorite Comic book Character from Marvel is Cannonball (From the New Mutants, X-Force and X-men to name a few) I just always thought his powers were cool and he flew! Plus in the 90s he was Field leader of X-force and they had some good storys for Him! As well he went head to head with Gladiator from the Shi’ar Empire.
I like The Jugernaught. Even thou he is a hulk… he is usualy written well.
He is pretty cool! what did you think of him in the X-men 3 movie?
Deadpool.
A survivor of the XXX-TREME 90’s, where he was introduced as an assassin in X-Force, over the years has evolved into a much deeper character with actual real motivations, and is also the only Marvel Comics character who knows that he’s a Marvel Comics character.
He’s a peripheral X-character (It can be argued has has been an X-Man, but he was wearing Marvel Girls uniform at the time) a survivor of Weapon-X and once travelled in time and made fun of Norman Osbournes hair.
So yeah, Deadpool. Woot.
Oh, and Ryan reynolds is playing him in the Wolverine film.
X-force used to be my fav comic so usually a good story when he was in those. But now I am not sure is he an anti-hero or bad guy now? But seeing him the Wolverine trailer just made me want to see that movie even more!
I suppose he’d be classed as an anti-hero now, he’s like wolverine, with swords… and a sense of humour, and little yellow thought boxes.
I always loved Wolverine. I never got into comics but had friends who had plenty. I would see cover art and loved the way he was always drawn. He’s the only character I had any interest in (well, I liked Spidey also).
Although he seems to not have a lot of fans (see the X-Men podcasts but I do agree that the movie version is a bit more dick-ish), I always considered Cyclops as my favorite X-Man and Marvel character.
Joss Whedon took the character in an interesting direction over the past 2 years (in Astonishing X-Men) making him a bit more unpredictable and giving him more the role of a General in charge of the survival of the mutant race as he’s now taking over the role of Charles Xavier, his (spiritual) father.
Scott’s the axis around which the rest of the X-world spins, and to me, the most interesting to watch. When the X-book closes, in the end, it’s all Scott’s story.
I haven’t followed the comics since the mid nineties, but I loved Cyclops. He is a bit of a dick, but he kind of has to be (team leader, after all.) I thought the movies caught that pretty much spot-on.
I HATED it. I did like the actor and thought that it could have worked. Juggy is a hard character to do live action. I almost think he wuld have to be CGI. I never thought that he would be in a movie. I HATED that the boy could take away his power. HELO Juggy isn’t mutant. Also. Characters who have generic power canceling ability have to have that power at a god-like level to effect Cain Marko. Roughe has kissed him twice and knocked him out… but couldn’t “steal” his power. I generaly thought they played him too fast, not strong enough, and a mutant ( which he isn’t). Juggy doesn’t care about the mutant issues… he is just a thug ( and not actually evil). Just a criminal. A few times he has saved life because he didn’t realy realy want to kill folks . ( in the 60’s and 70’s he did though).
I love spiderman the most. i know he’s mainstream but growing up he was the superhero i wanted to be.
edited to add my favorite villain Mr. sinister strangely i always wanted to be him aswell; growing up.
You can’t do Juggernaut in the X-Men movies without him being a mutant, the back story there is just too hard to put into the established universe, it’s the same reason they didn’t take The Phoenix story into space or involve the M’Kraan Crystal and the Shiar.
Just be happy they made him English so that he can still be Xaviers half-brother.
I’m with Boomer on this one
but I also liked:
Apocalypse
As for Heroes:
My all time favorite hero is Captain America:
and
I have to agree I liked him more in the comics. I liked him in the 90s when they first created the X-men book and divided the teams. So there was an Uncanny X-men and X-men book. The movie did make him more an A-hole!
Dr. Doom. How he is in the comics not the movies.
Picking a comic hero would be a lot harder for me, but it would be between The Silver Surfer, Jean Grey, or Daredevil.
They so screwed up the phoenix story. They should have made that X-men 4 and just be that story maybe not bring in the Shiar besides a nod to them but end it on the moon!
Sounds like we need a new thread about what the 3rd X-men movie should of been (if it does not already exist).
[BAMF] Nightcrawler! [BAMF]
Wow I just saw that the thread said “favorite muntant”. I assumed when i posted it was just favorite marvel char… oops. Sorry about the off topic post.
Of cource i know that Davedevil, Silver Sufer and Dr. Doom are not mutants.
I am glad I snuck Jean Greay in there. So that would be my final answer.
