The “Favorite Scenes” thread got me thinking that it’s hard to narrow down a particular scene when you love an entire episode, so I thought it would be a fun idea to pick your two favorite episodes from each series.
I’ll start with mine.
TOS: “The Enterprise Incident” and “The Corbomite Maneuver”
I like it when Kirk is devious and sneaky, and not when he’s an ass-kicking machine. So the reasons I like these two episodes is plainly obvious. I also really love the exchange and interaction between Spock and Charvanek in “The Enterprise Incident.”
TNG: “The Inner Light” and “Lower Decks”
If you need to ask why one would like ‘Inner Light,’ you’re not a true Star Trek fan. I love the story of “Lower Decks,” especially that of Sito Jaxa.
DS9: “Far Beyond the Stars” and “In the Pale Moonlight”
“Far Beyond the Stars” is such a good episode on many levels. It’s a radical branch from the traditional DS9 episode, especially during the time it takes place (mid Dominion war). ‘Pale Moonlight’ is also enjoyable, because it’s one of those rare times we see the model Starfleet officer do something totally illegal in order to get his way.
VOY: “One” and “Body and Soul”
I love the character of Seven of Nine, and so my choice of episodes here are both highly involved with her. I particularly enjoy “One” because we finally get to see the human and emotional side of Seven, as she begins to discover that part of her for herself and then start to nurture it. “Body and Soul” is just fun, the Doctor inside Seven of Nine’s body? How funny!
ENT: “Unexpected” and “North Star”
In “Unexpected,” Trip gets knocked up. “North Star” is the western episode, where they find a group of humans who are oppressing an alien race called the Skeggarans.
