Fast food Death Match

Which fast food place is your favorite, must have or guilty pleasure?

What is the reason you prefer the place over others.

This poll is only for fast food joints that’s everywhere (in the US at least). In other words, places that could afford national advertisements. so no area specific places such as White Castle or In and Out. Also no more “sit down” places, so I didn’t include pizza places, or fast Chinese food. And no “healthier choices” such as subway or quiznos. Just good old burger or taco or something you can eat with your hand, most likely will kill you, kind of places.

i left a other, in case i forgot some very obvious ones and if you want to write in places such as Sonics, Rallys or other places that are mostly likely everywhere as well.

In order

Carls Jr
Wendys
McDs
taco Bell
Der Wienerschnitzel

Given the choice. Taco Bell.

I’ve eaten at most of the other joints. It’s the same feeling every time. Mmmmm, ohhhh soooo good. Then about an hour later, UGH! Out of all the choices, KFC is the biggest culprit of that. I think it’s gonna be OSSIM and love it and then when I’m actually eating, not so much.

I get the worse tummy ache from McDonald’s. I prefer Burger King burgers.

Now that I’m thinking about. While growing up, I never had any fast food (except Pizza and Chinese) until I was in High School. It just seems today that more younglings are eating more fast food. Alright, that was my old man statement of the day.

well we don’t have most of those here, there are one or two KFCs (agh) but form the choices above I’d have to pick between Burger King and MMickey Dees, neither of which I would touch with the proverbial 10 foot barge pole.

That said we have a fast food place here called supermacs, they do PROPER chips, not whatver otherworldy stuff you get in macdonalds, it’s not too good for you but I passs one on the way from dublin to home, just after I run out of motorway and mmmmmmmmmm temptign.
In short, I’m not voting as I am limited choice wise, srry, if I was voting it’d be my local chinese, Kings as they ar eon eof three frakking place in Ballin that actually deliver.

No love for Sonic?

yeah, the choices are more American-centric. Living in Taiwan, McDonalds and KFC are the two biggest fast food chains. Even though KFC is huge, Taco Bell is none-existant here. Burger King is trying. There used to be Wendy’s in Taiwan. The famous Ang Lee movie “Eat Drink Man Woman” even featured Wendy’s as one of the places the kids rather eat at. But as of 1999, there’s no more Wendy’s in Taiwan…

Thinking back to my days in Texas and California, the place i think has the best burgers is Wendy’s, then Burger King. For some reason I always felt Arby’s had the best Fries. I hated Taco Bell… but there’s a Fresh Mex fast food place in California call Rubio’s that i loved. I didn’t list it because it’s probably mostly a west coast thing.

by the way, anyone ever tried Burgerville in Oregon? I’ve been hearing a lot about it.

didn’t list Sonic for two reasons… one, I don’t know how everywhere it is compares to the rest of the list. two, I’ve never eaten there (my bad…)

but i did remember seeing it in many places, so you definitely can write in Sonics, but please enlighten those who haven’t tried what’s the thing to get at Sonics, and why you prefer it.

Fresh is no comparison. Given the choice between Taco Bell and the Mexican joint on the corner. It’s the corner shop.

I guess where I’m coming from is, I’ll usually eat Taco Bell @ 2am after a night of debauchery. So, that’s a bit bias. After a bottle of Scotch, the memory of the food actually tasting better may be a bit altered.

you have any memory after a bottle of Scotch?
#colour me impressed

You don’t get a name like this for nuthin’

Well, Sonic is trying to be everywhere. the nearest one to me was 350 miles away now there are four within three miles of my house. (eastern pa)

Sonic = Great Burgers, Fries and milkshakes. ( i have had many things from the menu and liked everything… but …burgers fries and shakes…fantastic.)

it is a drive in, eat in your car, roller skate delivery piece of americana.
new Yet nostalgic.

Taco Bell all the way. I was introduced to this little piece of heaven a number of years back when I was living in Juandrew’s city. I made a point to patronize the establishment at least once a week. I got to know just about every employees.

Unfortunately, I had to move to a town where they never heard of this place. I miss it so much.

Popeye’s. [drool] Spicy chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, red beans and rice.[/drool]

I voted for Jack in the Box…cause we don’t have them here. So every time I’m somewhere there is one I must have a Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger.

Carl’s Jr. it is a little more expensive but the quality is superior. And I love the fried zuchinni, which I have never seen at any other fast food joint.

I voted Taco Bell based on what was there, but Sonic is my favorite. Great drinks, great burgers.

A&W a close second.

And Popeye’s is awesome.

Chipolte is actually my fave (I love their no-nonsense menu) but I’m also a big fan of a Taco Bell bean burrito (I might be less of one if they were nearby to me.)

My absolute favorite micro-franchise was Burrito Brothers around DC. You could get a burrito that was like a tinfoil-wrapped football of awesome. Sadly, they’re either in decline or extinct.

Huh. Weird that it’s all Mexican food joints.

that darn Cheese meat cheese cheese meat song will forever haunt my dreams.

yeah, i really liked the fast fresh mex stuff as well. I think i might prefer them over a burger…

Rubio’s, La Salsa, Del Taco (yeah… I like Del Taco better than Taco Bell) are all pretty wonderful.

Baja Fresh always felt more sit down to me… and if we can include the more fast foody sit down place, Wahoos is certainly one of my favorite places.

subway for me
