Ep 1 question??

OK,so I might be pushing it a bit with my 3 year old daughter but she seems quite receptive to Trek and Star Wars. She actually sat through the whole of The Phantom Menace last night!!! (Full of all sorts of funny questions, stars wars through the mind of a child,very entertaining) Her highlights were " the little boy Annie, and Padma’s dresses" Yoda being green didn’t sit too well with her:)

After rewatching it last night for the umteenth time I was reminded of something that always bugged me. Thought someone on the GWC forum might have the answer. So at the begining when the 2 Jedi are being gassed in the conference room the doors open and we clearly see two lightsabers light from the bottom up and deflect a few droid blasts. Then both Jedi drop from the ceiling with lightsabers in the normal position??? WTF?? I can’t figure how this could work? Maybe an oversight,I doubt it though.

Forgive me if this has been answered before, I’m not all that versed in the Star Wars universe.

I always took that to be they were on the ground to deflect the blasters, then jumped up to the ceiling and then dropped down onto the robots (or did a big “super jump” from in the gas to land in front of the robots. Take your pick :slight_smile: )

Ok i have reviewed the video and my conclusion is that this shot was not meant to be in that sequence. The door is not tall enough for a force jump. The shot is looking out into the corridor and could have been for a later escape sequence. So my opinion is that it is an editing flob.

I think so too!! It drives me crazy every time I see that shot. It just doesn’t make any sence, I’m surprised something like that would get past GL.
