So for those here who would like to take the “tour” on Thursday - how does 6 pm sound to start the tour

I am staying in the Hyatt, so we could meet in the lobby (where the check in is). We will start there and figure it out from there.

For those here who are planning on being at D*C and want my cell PM me here or DM on Twitter and I will send it to you. Texting will likely be the easiest way to communicate, Twitter can be spotty and answering a call in the middle of a panel, or a throng of geeks isn’t easy.

Once I decide what I am wearing on Thursday night I will let everyone know so you can find me. I am also going to try and give blood on Thursday afternoon, so I may have a lovely arm band (they normally bring neon colored tape they wrap around your arm).

Saturday at 8-ish sounds good to me. I’d like to go to that 7:00 pm showing of Who beforehand if I can.

I was thinking before and after actually That is the 7 pm panel I alluded to above, but I need to look at the rest of the schedule a little closer. I love the ap, but I also like the book with all the descriptions in it…which I will either read on the plane or Thursday once I get to Atl.

That sounds good. Do you have the address for the pub? I am not attending the con but I can come to the meet-up. I only live about a hour away in athens so if any one needs a ride I can pick them up for the meet-up. My car can seat 4 + me. I am afraid I don’t have a cell phone but I do have a land line if any one needs to call me. (706-850-7667). Also if any one lives east of atlanta I would not mind car-pooling - just give me your address and I’ll swing by and pick you up.

Tragic life news- a bunch of last minute fraternity/school things came up, so I doubt I’ll be able to actually make it to the con (my ticket has been pawned off to a friend.) Is the pub definitely 21+ and not 18+?

5-7 at the pub is good for me. I too want to see the Doctor Who group watch at 7.

From what I can tell (and from what I remember) yes it is 21+.

I am getting into town Wend night. GalaxyRising and I will be heading down to get our Passes sometime on Thursday. I am up for a meet up at anytime. I have not figured out any huge panels that i want to check out yet either. I think i am gonna try and figure out my schedule Wend/Thursday night. Cant wait to see everyone and hang and goto panels and all that other fun stuff. I am also going to bring a HQ voive recorder so we can record a what we saw/loved/looking forward to clip to send to Chuck to hopefully put in the 'cast. Sort of like what they did at the SDCC meetup

So was there an official time decided yet? Costuming Calendar is really crowded so trying to make sure i get a spot in here for GWC :slight_smile:

Yeah it is, :frowning: However, the pub is only a mile form school, so if anyone wants to meet up before/after I’m definitely down. If anyone has any interest in hitting up The Varsity, I live right next to it and would be happy to escort people there. There are few things better than the frosted orange.

JoCo is a geek and code monkey who sings about geeky things. You can check out his stuffhere, I’m sure it will be D*C themed and I’m pretty sure it’s also an album release party for him (that’s what one of his emails said at some point if I recall correctly.) Paul and Storm will also be there, if you’ve heard of them.

I am so looking forward to all of this :smiley: I finished getting my one costume ready yesterday. I’m not sure which day to wear it though, looks like maybe Saturday would be best though, with the Who viewing and the meet-up. I so can’t wait!

The Varsity! I ate there once almost 20 years ago. It was so good! Maybe we can all meet up there at some point during the weekend.

There is a bunch of us that want to. I was thinking we can either all leave the bar to go to the Who screening at like 6:15-6:30 and then come back after.

Unless everyone wants to delay the meet-up until after - I am good with that too.

I’ll be down Saturday at least. I know I’m far more lurker than active participant around here but I’d love to meet up with y’all and connect more faces to post names.
