Dragon Age: Origins

Dragon Age: Origins 1.01b patch is out now.

On the XBox360 you have two sets of weapons each with two slots. That way you could switch between a Two handed sword to a Single weapon and shield. A Ranger could switch between Two weapons and a Bow or a Mage could have two separate Wands. Maybe it isn’t the same on PC?

If it isn’t from magic I will have to watch out for it. Not sure why a Rouge would do much? What kind of #'s are everyone else seeing?

Oh, you meant the alternate weapon, weapon switching. My bad. He uses a crossbow. Again, a two-handed weapon. No shield.

Edit: LordCorbin’s character has a staff and the second slot is empty.

Last night, I had a bit of a laugh.

Reminded of Buffy when she said, “So, Dawn’s in trouble… must be Tuesday.”

Maybe a writer is a Whedon fan. Or, could be a coincidence. d:

Ironically, it was just after midnight Wednesday when that dialog played. So it missed Tuesday barely. (:

I’m looking at 784 friendly fire so far. I think it would be a lot higher but I got Alistair wearing a decent amount of frost resist gear so I don’t turn him into an ice-cube every time I cast Cone Of Cold. I see it hasn’t updated since 4pm yesterday, so that number may be a bit higher. Hard to avoid aoe damage in those small rooms in the Mage Tower.

Yea, I went through the Mage Tower with Morrigan, Wynne and Leliana. I could balance better but I like Morrigan and Leliana. It worked okay there but I am having trouble with the werewolves and Revenant’s in the Brecilian Forest. Time to take some dudes into the fight, so much for “Girl Power”.:stuck_out_tongue:

Nope, you were right on, at least if the Dragon Age Wiki is anything to go by (from Alistair’s character page):

“In writing Alistair, David Gaider was inspired by Xander from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Malcom Reynolds from Firefly.”

My stats

Xander I can see but I don’t see much of Captain Tightpants in Alistair. Maybe a bit of Wash but not Mal.

Agreed. I can’t say as I see him as any specific character, more just Whedonesque.

Alistair: “Why do you always go on about how stupid I am? I’m not stupid, am I?”
Morrigan: “If you need to ask the question…”
Alistair: “Because it hurts my manly feelings you know. All one of them.”

Good to know. (:

As far as your character, hmm. Strange how your greatest damage is 75 at level 21 compared to my 101 at level 15. But, you have a 50 party contribution compared to my 45. I’m assuming that’s percentage. 93 versus 81 hit rate. Great day, she has killer Dex. Interesting build.

Can she kill single foes in less time it takes for the rest of your party to kill another?

When I play dual wield again, I’m gonna try to get 36-42 Dex ASAP, then focus on strength.

Yes! Especially if I could get enemies to focus on other party members, I would just use her to sneak behind and stab away. I found it even more effective if I had her equipped two daggers, but I just couldn’t pass up Starfang. I really, really, wish there had been a dagger option for that! :\

Heh. I’ve been using the 2-handed starfang verson since abot level 8. But, if you have Dual-wield Mastery, you can use two swords without penalties.

Heh. My biggest damage is like. 360-400 with an Arrow of Slaying on a spider. Site isn’t updated though so.

Yes, I know. And it’s likely all in my mind, but dual-wield daggers just feels faster.

Probably is faster. Smaller weapons have better RoF, but do less damage per hit.

New DLC coming soon - “Return to Ostagar”

sweet, it might be out in time for my third run through

These little addons are expensive but I will probably pick up this one and Wardens Keep, might as well go for completion. Besides, those gorram darkspawn need a good kicking.

Warden’s Keep is totally worth it.
The storage container you get access to afterward is sweet!
Everyone see the little cutscene with the meteor? Hilarious!

Yep, it was fantastic. I have no idea what they could possibly be referencing
