“Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here! This is the War Room.”
great pick, another movie I have, but haven’t watched yet.
and it’s on Netflix Instant!!! yay!!
Love how this movie begins. Tongue-firmly-in-cheek
Look Peter Sellers! As Mandrake.
This viewing is a first for me. Haven’t seen even a bit of this movie before.
Watch for the character names:
Jack D. Ripper - a notorious English psychopathic killer of prostitutes, or a killer in general
Mandrake - a medicinal plant root or herb, said to encourage fertility, conception or potency - an aphrodisiac
Maj. T.J. “King” Kong - signifying a male beast with a primitive, destructive, obsessive lust
Have you ever seen Murder by Death?
As well as planet-jumping energy being.
No but it looks good. I’ll have to check it out.
PIGLET!!
Buck Turgidson - a “buck” is a male animal or stud; “turgid” means distended or swollen; and his delayed love-making to a real-life Playboy centerfold Tracy Reed - the only woman in the entire film
Oh, we’ll have to frak it. Truly hilarious.
This is so amazingly witty. Love the bedroom voice and the masculine / feminine overtones. It’s so funny on so many levels.
Great Scott! George C. Scott!
You mentioned ‘Fail Safe’ and ‘Murder by Death’, 2 films I haven’t seen. We’ve got to check both them out.
Two movies that couldn’t be more different, but both are great.
See what I mean? The photos of women in the safe next to the attack plans. The marching music and bravado ready to start armageddon.
I’m sorry. If I’m not making any sense, it’s cuz I’m exhausted. Brain not working.
This is brilliant as well. The stuck-up British soldier VS. the arrogant American.
posh accent Such a proper stand-off.
No one tries to get through a locked door like Peter Sellers.
