It looks like the Christmas special will actually air on Christmas day this year On BBC America. 9/8 c.
Indeed! You can listen to Matt Smith talk briefly about that fact, and many other things, in this podcast with Chris Hardwick (apparently it’s Matt’s first podcast ever!)
That’s right, I guess they didn’t have those podcast commentaries for DW season 5, or did I just missed them? Shame. I would have loved to hear Moffat talk about the individual episodes.
Have you guys seen the preview trailer for the Christmas special? BBC America has it on their website.

So…
The Doctor knows how to use the Floo Network?
The return of Roman Rory and Policewoman Amy?
Is that a Land Shark?
DOCTOR: “Whatever happens tonight, remember: You brought it on yourself.”
Matt Smith does “slightly creepy” very well. Also, the music rocks.
(This tends to be a constant in recent years of Doctor Who. The music is always awesome.)
It all looks very mysterious. I can’t wait for Christmas.
