Eve Myles playa a main character on TW. I guess they liked her so much as this minor character and decided to cast her later again in a much bigger role.

The maid can see the future, which makes her a medium. And at the moment that pun was made, she was kinda happy. Also the term “happy medium” refers to a compromise, satisfactory to all parties. Thats what made her a happy medium.
Good theory Watson…ahhhm Dickens. I wasn’t that impressed by the first half of this episode. Nowcitvwas alright.
i really liked this episode. campy and fun with real historical references to ground it all. Good times. 'Til next week, Andi old chap! Cheerio!
