Doctor Who 6x07 A Good Man Goes To War

“Yeah, we know.” :frowning:

“I’ve often dreamed of dying in combat. I’m not enjoying as much as I’d hoped.”

“You don’t remember me.”
“Of course I remember. I remember everyone.” :frowning:

“Who was she?”
“I don’t know, but she was very brave.”
“They’re always brave. They’re always brave.” :frowning:

Ok!!!

Oh my!!!

I love River Song! Wow, that was a good ending.

I love that line.

so… yeah…

(I was right! hehe!)

River Song is Melody Pond… They’ve been keeping that secret for how long now!?

3 series if you count where we first meet here. BTW I was one who saw this last week. Thanks to my cable company I have to find other ways to get my DW fix.

I kinda nailed this last series. Just wasn’t sure where Amy and River fit together. Now the rest of the series should be good.

Here’s a peek at what we are getting.

"Coming soon…

04th Jun 2011

What a start to the series… The Silence! Pirates! The TARDIS! Amy avatar! River! And the most amazing finale. But what happens next?

In the video above, Steven Moffat and Alex Kingston sum up what we’ve learnt so far this series, and hint at secrets yet to be unlocked. Doctor Who will be back later this year with the remaining six episodes of the current series. The first one’s called Let’s Kill Hitler and was written by Steven Moffat.

We know Mark Gatiss has also written one of the upcoming adventures and he’s promised us monsters that are the creepiest things ever! Given that Mark’s previous scripts for the show include The Idiot’s Lantern and The Unquiet Dead, two stories packed with chilling moments, it looks likely his latest episode will have plenty more hide-behind-the-sofa scenes!

We can look forward to the return of James Corden, last seen in The Lodger and David Walliams is also onboard, appearing in an episode written by Toby Whithouse, whose previous Doctor Who scripts include School Reunion and The Vampires of Venice.

In the weeks ahead we’ll be bringing you plenty more information about the second half of the series. We’ll have interviews with the writers, cast members and some very special video exclusives… More about those soon!

In the meantime, don’t forget you can watch A Good Man Goes to War online, plus all the Prequels - to episode 1, episode 3 and episode 7. The following six episodes seem a long way away but the TARDIS will be back before you know it.

The Doctor will return!"

Look like we will be getting an answer to why the Silences control room looks like the Lodger’s upstairs. More fun to come.

That was one of the more confusing things about this episode. A mere 8 episodes ago the Sontarans were joined up with every other bad guy in Whoville to lock the Doctor away forever in a box. Now he’s getting willing help from them?

All I can figure is, they sometimes allude to past adventures that we never saw. Maybe, in some past adventure, the Doctor helped this particular Sontaran (And the green lady with the D’argo tongue) and they owe him a favor. Or something.

Moffat has been asking for me to be patient, while bombarding me with what seems like gigabytes of time stream-convoluted information and misinformation for too long now. WAY too many unanswered, and under-answered, questions so far. That would be fine, but he is not providing much of a lifeboat or even a donut to cling to while he tosses us around in his sea of intrigue.

He is a great writer and show runner, and can be as clever as they come, but this season is lacking an acceptable degree of coherency, at least for me and my wife. He’s making me work too hard.

I’ll be watching every episode they produce, no matter what. I’ve loved this series since the late 60’s (yeah, I’m old). But I can’t hide my disappointment at how difficult it has become to try to stick with the multiple plot lines, knowing full well that much of what has been presented won’t be dealt with again at all.

I’m with you on that point. There is too much going on and not enough information to really understand where we’re supposed to focus on the story. I think for me it’s partially because I had the whole of all previous seasons to watch as fast as I wanted because I was catching up to watch the current season with everyone, therefore I think waiting a week (or more thanks to waiting for Memorial Weekend, serious dislike) is confusing the storylive even further for me. But I also think that the writers have introduced too many new story threads for everything to be coherent. And it make it feel even harder to follow when they have the fun episodes that don’t expain much, just give us a good story (the Pirates ep).

I can’t wait for the next half of this season as I am tied up in the whole Doctor thing, and maybe it will all make more sense once we know what is going on, but I do feel thrown in a lot of different directions. I’ll be going back to watch River’s reactions to everything in the series since now we know that she has already been through it, granted from the young child side and she’s following her own history as an adult… crazy.
