Why not? They’ve hinted at the possibility. Didn’t Matt Smith’s newly regenerated self think he was a girl for a minute because of all his hair?

Replacement? As in the 12th doctor? But why? And it would have to be from a different timeline, since he wasn’t allowed to regenerate.
Because I’m not smart enough to figure out how he comes back from that unless the timeline is changed. But, if the timeline is changed, then the whole thing with them doing the moon landing broadcast never happened. Plus, the shows I’ve seen (the previous season) indicate the Doctor will die (as in won’t unhappen), so the current Doctor has to come back somehow unless it’s the beginning of a new doctor…
