I was listening to a Podcast that is not remotely about Star Trek, but I heard a name that reminded me of Dr. Pulaski from season 2 of TNG, and I realized that I largely don’t remember her at all. I don’t think I got into TNG until the 3rd season or so, and I really just never think of her when TNG comes up.
Do you forget that she was there too? Do you care?
I try to forget her, and just when I do, someone like you comes along and reminds me about her.

Yeah, I never really consider part of the crew. Tasha Yar was more part of the crew and they were both were there for a similar amount of time. Then again most of season 1 and 2 of TNG are best forgotten and I love TNG
I just never liked her character… I mean the fact she was so prejudiced against Data just always bothered me.

She was season 2 only, when Dr. Crusher was supposedly off at Starfleet Medical. She had a couple moments, but I’ve never met an actual fan. Kind of a Cousin Oliver type TV character.
She was pretty good in the “the one with Prof. Moriarty” but on the whole, eh.
That episode was on just a few weeks ago.
She’s not as bad as I think she is at first, and I get that she’s this foil for Picard (and was on TOS or somesuch?), but Crusher is just too awesome.
Her bigotry really annoyed me, and, well, she’s not Crusher! Plus, she earns the rare distinction of being involved in one of Trek’s only true clip shows. 
I like her just fine on TNG and the fact that she was on TOS is bonus points.
On the plus side, she was proof that you don’t need to be smokin’ hot to get cast on Trek. Not that she’s ugly… she’s a handsome woman, I’d say.
What’s worse? Handsome woman or Pretty man?

Yeah, and I never liked clip shows. I forgive Troi tho for being in that episode, (I dislike clip episodes too) but perhaps that is because I the biggest crush on her as a kid.
You know, she is a handsome woman. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, it’s not a backhanded compliment in my book. Just a different type of aesthetically pleasing countenance.
But I really hated Dr. Pulaski. I wanted my beloved Beverly back and I couldn’t stand her backtalk to Jean Luc. Beverly did it better.

I thought Pulaski was an interesting character - I didnt like her at all, but she had the potential to provoke interesting storytelling.
I think Crusher just adds a much-needed subtlety in character that Pulaski does not provide. I’ve come to like her just fine, but she’s too “big” a personality for me. Crusher’s just a great fit into the cast, whereas Pulaski just feels like a designed Picard counterpoint.
