Discuss: Cold Blood (5X09) (spoilers)

I enjoyed the second of this two-parter as it was time well spent with these “new” Silurians and with the idea that humans are–despite the Doctor’s affirmations of their qualities–in the end fundamentally fallible.

Question: whilst on the decontamination slab, the Doctor mentioned something about the “human bacteria” in his blood. Anyone else get a clearer read on this? and is there any other canon information on this (aside from the McGann assertion)?

probably all the snogging of female companions. That or eating the same goodstuff/being in the same atmosphere of humans for so long.

Well the end was particularly sad for now.
Though i figure it will be resolved by the end of the “Crack in Time” Arc. Seeing how the Doctor is starting to put it together about how Amy is tied into it. I have a bad feeling this is going all “Princess Astra” here.
Glad that the Silurians are more updated this go round.

When I saw it in context, I thought the Silurian was removing bacteria from the humans in order to purify them in preparation for testing. Not “human” bacteria per se, but bacteria on/in the humans that might confuse his tests or cause infection in the subject. Taken that way, removing “human” bacteria from the Doctor would likely kill him. That was my reading anyway.
