Has anyone watch this show? I loved it its on showtime but the first two season are on dvd and itunes, I fell love with show there’s about 20 episodes and the third season comes back in september. The show is base on s Darkly Dreaming Dexter books by Jeff Lindsay there three books. its for adults.
I’m definitely interested in this. My best friend loves it and my husband has just caught up on it a bit, so it comes highly recommended.
It’s a great show. I’ve the first season on DVD. I’m really looking forward to season 3. Jimmy Smits is apparently going to be in it. That should be great
LOVE it! I fell in love with Michael C Hall in Six Feet Under, so when I heard he was doing Dexter, I knew I had to check it out. I’ve watched all of them, and own Season 1 on DVD.
I read the books, first, thanks to RaptorMXS. Haven’t read the third one yet.
This is my fav. currently on-air show next to BSG. Has anyone read the books it’s based on? I’ve been thinking about reading them.
The exact same reason I tuned in. Six Feet was another great show.
I read the first book really good, The show is based on the books but the show is diffrent something happen in the book but not on the show, read it i’m going to read the second book in a few weeks.
I’ve read the first two. I liked them both. I’ll get around to the third sooner or later, but I heard it wasn’t as good.
The first season followed the first book, mostly, but the second series went off on it’s own and I doubt that the third series will resemble anything by Jeff Lindsay.
He lives in my general vicinity and I have gone to here him speak and he has some interesting stories about the translation of the books onto the screen. Filming the show in Long Beach instead of Miami creates certain problems for him.
As far as the third book, it delved into the occult, but he says the fourth will be a bit more straight forward. It’s different, but still worth reading.
this show is excellent. the character of Dexter is so rich and interesting, and the way he grows and changes throughout the series is fascinating to observe. plus, i think Sean would probably really dig Lila. it’s definitely not science fiction, but that’s not why we like BSG. it’s the characters, right? and Dexter features some really great characters.
I’m about to start the second book sometime this week. I love the first book as much as the show.
Great series. Season one was amazing and I thought it would fall to crap in the second, but season two was awesome as well, so I have high hopes for season three.
I love both seasons there were good I’m so looking forward for season 3 I have no clue on whats going to happen.
Oooo fantastic show! It’s amazing how much you can actually grow to care about Dexter’s persona. I mean c’mon, did you ever think you’d worry about a serial killer? Yeah, me neither but damned if I don’t and I’m eagerly awaiting his return this fall.
This one is an excellent show and I most definitely recommend it to everyone!
You read my mind we get close to him and see how messed it all is. He’s a serial killer with a heart and sometimes the two don’t work so well together I’m half way thro the second book I’m enjoying alot.
from what i’ve heard, it was announced at ComicCon that in the third season, Mr. Jimmy Smits will be joining the cast. that’s right, Dexter Morgan is gonna be rubbing elbows with Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan.
That’s cool news. Anyone know when the new season starts?
I’ll put in my vote for this as well. Dexter’s definitely one of the most interesting anti-heroes I’ve ever seen on TV. I will say I’m a little conflicted about the resolution of his exposure problem in the second season (hopefully that’s vague enough for my fellow spoilerphobes), but the season finale was very satisfying, IMO. I still have trouble seeing Julie Benz as Rita after seeing her as Darla on Angel & Buffy – such a departure from a strong character to one who’s so damaged – but Rita’s growing on me, slowly…
I’m new to the scene too. I picked up the first season about a month ago and couldn’t stop watching. I just started season 2, which doesn’t have the same driving flow as the first season did, but it is still very interesting.
I know I’m only 2 episodes into season 2 (so don’t spoil me either ;)), but I miss the confident controlling Dexter from season 1.
Don’t worry, he’ll be back.
