“So that’s it”
Meanwhile back on Messiah.
(10 hrs to comet impact)
Capt Tanner suggests a suicide mission to stop the larger of the two comet pieces.
(Like Sheppard or Honor Harrington would do)
“Look on the bright side. We’ll all have high schools named after us.”
Well, if you’re gonna die, then die for something really big.
Jeez, these are wrenching scenes.
Off, goes Leo on the motorcycle in search of Sarah.
Jenny grabs Beth’s little girl on the way to the copter.
She gives her seat to them.
Leo finds Sarah and her family.
Jenny drives wildly to the coast in search of her father.
Sarah’s mother and father give Sarah the baby, tell her they love her.
Tell Leo to take care of both of them.
Sarah is besides herself.
Everyone is crying and saying goodbye.
(I have seen this film many times, and I can never get through this scene without tears flowing. I just tears me apart.)

Had to pause that.
Jenny finds her father on the beach.
“When you were a baby, I once dropped you on your head.”
And yet another wrenching scene.
The first smaller piece of the comet hits earth.

There goes NYC again.
How many times has NYC been destroyed?
Good thing Leo’s on that trail bike.
Get to high ground !!
The Messiah crew say goodbye to their families.
Capt Tanner:
“Mary, I’m coming home”
Another choked up moment.
Messiah countdown to nuke detonation.
