If you ask me, they probably filmed scenes dealing with that, but the movie was already to long so they cut it. I would be very curious to see what scenes were cut. Personally, I would have enjoyed a full three hour TDK. The pacing and quality was good enough that three hours would have been easy to enjoy.

Everyone knows that the more ears you have the more you will enjoy the super surround-sound of the theater speakers. GR needs us to lend him our ears in the most literal of senses.
But is it possible to have too many ears?
If you keep on increasing the amount of ears, they may start to over run your face, start bullying the other sensory organs, make fun of the fact that there’s only two eyes, only one nose. They may even get greedy, try to steal neurons away from those being used to smell and see, wanting all the body’s sensory power, then they get ambitious and plot plans to attack the sense of touch, start malicious rumours about their background and before long you’re left with nothing but a body constantly at war covered in ears, with your sense of touch disapearing slowly.
Take it from me, stick to two ears. Just to be safe.
