Daniel, Seven, Baltar, and "Real Earth"...

Okay. I just re-watched the last episode. Sam rambles… “Back on Earth, the warning signs that we got… They looked different to each one of us. I saw a woman. Tory, you saw a man. Funny… No one else could see them. Galen, you thought… you saw… a ship in your head…”

Starbuck asks him about the Seven. He says, “Seven… was (the) Daniel…”

Since Baltar sees a woman that no one else can see… just like Sam did before the catastrophy on Earth… he may be Daniel.

However, since Ellen says Daniel was an artist… and the only artist on the show is Starbuck… things get a little wierder.

Also, I doubt the planet they discovered is actually “Earth” for a few reasons:

  1. In season 3, the camera zooms away from the fleet, shows the entire galaxy, and then zooms back in to Earth… and then North America. During season 4, we haven’t seen the moon, the continents, or anything remotely recognizable as the Earth… the Earth from season 3… the one with the North American continent… our earth.

  2. The prophecy states that the dying leader will lead them to Earth… but will not set foot upon it. Since Laura walked on this planet, either

(a) the prophecy is wrong;

(b) she’s not the dying leader;

© this is not the ‘Earth’ spoken of in the prophecy.

  1. As for Gaeta saying the astonomical/astrological star patterns “match” up with what they saw in the Tomb of Athena… That might mean that:

Earth is in the vicinity of this cylon colony they “think” is Earth.

Consider: Galactica is breaking apart. Chief says the cylon goo from the other Base Star will repair the beams… but that it will take time. The other Base Star is half-destroyed already. Cavil’s on the way. They need to find a home soon…

Most important of all, there’s only five episodes left…

I’ll wager a planet’s close. I bet it’s Earth.

Try to out-geek THAT! Muahahahahaaaaa!!!

Man, do I feel foolish. Here I am, rewatching episodes, trying to solve a “who-done-it”, taking notes, and thinking I’ve figured it all out… and finally find an outlet - this forum - to preach my revelations…

…only to spend the past half-an-hour viewing many posts by people who came to these conclusions… and some even better answers… long before I did.

And here I thought I was ingenious…

This is an interesting post. However there is one important detail relating to this:

Actually the prophecy states that the dying leader will not reach the promised land. A lot of people have assumed that the promised land is Earth but this fact has never been stated in the show and thus may yet be proved false…

I’m with you, but to terrorize the language even further… When MLK spoke of the “Promised Land” it was a metaphor obviously. What if there is no earth but rather an accord that binds cylons and humans together to start the next chapter, as long as the 1’s, 4’s & 5’s are eliminated that is.

I’ve also been wondering if Ellen does show back up will C6 abscond with her and Tigh’s baby since Saul will immediately run to her??? Maybe they and Baltars little groupies become the 13th tribe in this iteration.

Compare finding a blue & green jewel of a planet called “Earth”… then imagine finding some habitable planet called “Beta Carotine IV”. Or “New Khap-lah!”

The promised land is Earth. I owe you a cybernetic daggot suit if I’m wrong.

The promised land is metaphor for the alliance? The show ends with the happy fleet disappearing into the cosmos as they resume their hunt down a habitable planet?

PLLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSEEEEE let it be Earth… please…

I’ve also been wondering if Ellen does show back up will C6 abscond with her and Tigh’s baby since Saul will immediately run to her??? Maybe they and Baltars little groupies become the 13th tribe in this iteration.

Or they could have a poligamous relationship. Saul, you dirty old man…

Don’t worry about that, H&S. We welcome all theories, expounded upon or not.

It IS based on Mormon (myth/the)ology. C6 and Ellen sisterwives? Do they have to get the old timey print dress and hairdoo?

(too much Big Love on the brain)

If Saul doesn’t end up in the bottom of a bottle when Ellen shows up, it will be a miracle. Of course, she forgrave ‘John’ and he murdered her so maybe it will all be ok.

Ellen was under that pile of rubble (in the flashback) because of Tigh. Perhaps she’s accustomed to putting up with his craaap.

Anyways, she seems enlightened and forgiving. As has been said, she forgave Iblis–I mean Johnny Cavil.
